I just got back from Disney and now i'm looking for some day trips to for the rest of the summer. Has anyone been to Clementon Park? Or been tubing at rivercountry in Bucks county PA? I'm thinking about doing one of those next week and trying to decide which is best. Reviews would be great! We don't like big rides, but we've been wanting to go to a water park. The wave pool and lazy river looks fun at Clementon. We've never been tubing either, so that looks like it might be fun too.

Done both of years though its been a few years for each. If you ask on the community board you might get more responses. Both are nice daytrips and fun. I don't really think you can go wrong with either.

We looked into clemonton park last week but trip advisor reviews were about 60/40 against it, so we went with hurricane harbor instead.

I live five minutes from Clementon Park and had a season pass two years ago. The park is small and can get very crowded so never go on the weekends. They did not have the wave pool when I had my membership. The lazy river is not very long, and was my kids least favor thing to do. The rides in the water park are nice and my kids really liked them. The amusement rides were alright, my kids favorite was the roller coaster. I would take my kids first thing in the morning and leave around 1pm when it started getting crowded. The biggest problem I found with Clementon was that a lot of day camps had season passes and it was used for a lot of day trips for camps from Philadelphia and Camden. I found at times that the crowd could was a little rough for my personal taste. Overall the park is not that bad, but remember it is small. Also dont forget they charge for parking as well as admission. This park is nothing like Great Adventure or Hershey park when it comes to size. I hope I was able to help you.

I would suggest for a few dollars more to go to Dorney Park over Clementon. Clementon is good if you go around June after that is gets super crowded quickly. There area few "big" water rides and the play area is great for older kids but in my opinion that is it. Hurricane Harbor offers so much more.

Tubing is great but I have never done Rivercountry. We just go up to Point Pleasant and go from there.

Hope you have a great trip.

I have to agree with the other posters - Clementon is a small park and can get very crowded. And, I often went with our large camp group in the summer. I remember seeing families groan when they saw our bus pull up!

When I lived in Bensalem, we often went tubing from Point Pleasant. Very nice memories!

Gotta echo everyone else. Clementon is a nice park but only go on the weekday, it is very small so gets packed super quick. My son worked there last summer. LOL. They do, do a good job at handling the summer camps and day camps but bodies are bodies, it's still packed.

We did rafting many years ago, when the kids where small. We went with an outfit out of Jim thorpe PA. can't remember the name. We loved it.

I would not recommend Clementon Park, it doesn't offer that many attractions and as a PP mentioned once the camp kids come in you need to leave (100 kids with 10 adults supervising? no thanks!)

Hurricane Harbor and Dorney Park are your best bets for water parks in the area, but you also might like Raging Waters in Wildwood and there are also 2 good indoor water parks in South Jersey (Sahara Sams and CoCoKey). As for tubing, I went about 3 years ago with Delaware River Tubing and had a blast. hth :goodvibes

I really liked Clementon, but I'll admit we had very limited attendance to the park because my dad's union rents the entire park for a day, so no open admission worries for us:lmao: Even if it had been crowded I would have liked it better than Dorney, and I've been to Dorney more often.

I will say for tubing that deeper the river is the better the ride. Its in a very shallow part of the river, you can stand up at about any given time but if its a bad drought year your butt can drag along the bottom in places. Also if you go, shoes are a MUST! I always wore crap sneaks cause if you go barefoot you can really cut up your feet on the rocks and stuff.

Just to throw another option at you OP: have you ever been to Knoebels? That, hands down is a great amusement park. Plus no cover charge, you pay by the ride so if you don't plan on riding then you can just supervise and watch the kids have a great time. I'm sad to say I haven't been since my college days but oh how i miss it:sad2:

I love Knoebels...and for a plus they had Dole Whips available there last year  (of course when I went they only had orange no pineapple).
If you go to Bucks County discount summer tickets you can get quite a few discounts on major parks there. I dont know if other counties offer that, but its a way to save some money off tickets.

And also in regards to Knoebels they have a great camping ground there too so if you wanted to make a few days out of it.

We've tubed, canoed and rafted with Bucks County Rivercountry. We went tubing 2 summers ago and saw bald eagles flying above us as we floated down the river.

Thanks for all the replies. I ended up going tubing today at schuylkill river outdoors. It was alot of fun. I laughed when I read the post about the rivers being dry and dragging your butt on the rocks. I was not ready for that, and that was the only bad part of the ride..lol. I liked it so much i'm going to try the one in Bucks county too. I ended up finding this one at the last minute and it was half the drive as the other one.
As for Knoebels, i've been going there for years!! I do plan on making a trip back this season because that new inside roller coaster is open. Hopefully it doesn't have any big drops..lol. Where did you find the dole whip there? I missed that last year when I was there.
