Just wondering - I know that if someone has symptoms or tests positive it’s off to isolation…anyone know how Disney is handling? I’ve read a few experiences from other cruise lines and the experience seems to run from wow, the staff couldn’t do enough for us to I felt like a prisoner with cold food…anyone know how things work on Disney?

A couple of months ago a family posted about quarantine. They were moved to deck 2 and seemed to be fine with how it went, though it was only for the last night.

Do you happen to remember the thread that the post was on? This is the one thing that is concerning us about going on our future cruise... which is how much our experience will change if we somehow test positive in the middle of a cruise.

I remember that thread and I've also watched a few YouTube videos from people on other cruise lines. The basic experience is the same across all cruise lines.

You get moved from your original stateroom to the quarantine deck. The quarantine staterooms are not like for like, so your original stateroom could be a verandah and the quarantine stateroom could be oceanview.

You will be visited by the ships medical crew who will monitor you for your quarantine time.

You will get all food delivered to your quarantine stateroom

You wont have a stateroom host but will get fresh towels etc delivered

You will be escorted off the ship before or after the rest of the passenger and could possibly use crew corridors / elevators, ship gangway to exit the ship to minimize contact with other passengers and crew.

This was our experience on Allure of the Seas on RCI. There were certain parts of it they handled well, but the guest services communication during the experience was terrible.

Good to know they are handling people like convicts with leprosy.
I'm soooo looking forward to potentially being treated like this on my next cruise where I paid 5-figure $$$$$
This is beyond insane - But I do admit, I'm even crazier for actually doing this - the things we do for our loved ones.

Please understand that this sounds far more snarky than what I mean it to but I can’t find a way to word the question without it sounding this way so here it is: What do you expect cruise lines to do if you are infected with a highly contagious disease while on board? You would also be quarantined if you had norovirus while onboard. (Again, sorry for what must definitely sound like ‘tone’ or attitude!)

Just to add an explanation for this, quarantine cabins are chosen for having negative room pressure which is also used in hospitals and other settings for isolation. Basically means that when a door is opened it draws in ‘clean’ air from the corridor as opposed to releasing any contaminated air (there’s some good diagrams online if you Google for anyone interested). Believe that’s why they’re usually cabins that don’t have balconies.

Since this occurred prior to children aged 5-11 being able to be vaccinated, I wanted to ask for an update. If my fully vaccinated child is in the kid's club, and is exposed there, would the process still be the same for my family today?

I do not know if their onboard rules quarantine vaccinated close-contacts or not. I don't think I've seen any clarification.
