Anyone been able to switch lately with Free Dinning?

I figure if someone is cancelling they are going to do it right around the 45 day deadline which is for us on monday.


Has anyone been able to switch resorts lately on the Free dinning plan offer?

I switched from the Beach Club to POR the other day. Didn't want POR but money was an issue so I took what I could get.
We went from 3800 to 2100 ( for a preferred room).
Wanted to keep our free dining.
I was told that I couldn't switch b/c the promo had ended, but I pressed a bit and brought up the argument that if I was allowed to upgrade then surely I was allowed to switch. Waited a few min for customer service and she spoke to guest relations and sure enough I got switched, she didn't like it and was a tad bit short, but I received an email confirming details and it was a done deal!
Sooooo...I still want csr ...so I will call later to see if I can switch...I didn't want to press my luck...I just asked for ANYTHING available at all!!!

I was able to switch from Sports to Music last Saturday.

I called booking and explained that I did not see the sense of paying for a preferred room to be near to a pool that wasn't there, as pool will be closed on our dates (Sept. 16-19). At first CM said could not be done b/c no rooms available, but I told her according to web site there were preferred rooms available at Music for those dates. CM tried again, but then said computer would not let her make change b/c the free dining promo had expired--but she would speak to someone. After 30 min on hold CM came back and said they were able to make change b/c I was not trying to make any additions or changes other than requesting to be at same level resort b/c pool was closed.
I must say the CM was terrific-it seemed as she really went to bat for us.


I was very relieved b/c by staying in a value resort my DH agreed to a Christmas trip as well this year.

ok. so im reading this post and getting EXTREMELY aggravated. not with any of you fellow DIS'rs but with my TA. i have been calling her every single day for the past week asking her to check to switch from ASMu to POP or POR. preferably POR. and every day she tells me that there isn't any availibility and thats that. I asked her to ask guest relations. I asked her to try again.. and still nothing. what the heck? i am going to the TA right now to put the finalization on our trip with the rest of the payment. she is going to get an ear ful from me.

We were able to upgrade from Pop 9/15-9/21 to CSR 9/20-9/27 without losing the free dining.

DH was very persistant and called guest services daily untill he was successful. DH figured now was the time to start calling because people's final payments are due which could mean cancellations.

MULAN82 get your reservation number and call yourself. Unfortunately, some TA take the easy route...maybe the TA is not getting guest services. DH had several CM tell him they could help check availabilty, but it is not the case only guest services has access to a package no longer offered.

My family was able to switch from WL to the Poly through guest services and keep the free dining. That's been about 2 weeks ago.

I have been trying to change, and even upgrade our room for the AS Sports (8/27-9/1) since the 46 day out (hoping on day 45-44 out someone would not have paid for their stay) every day to every other day to no avail. I am not happy that I was not informed when booking that our pool would not be opened, as I would have went to Movie or Music when we booked in May - the POP was already full.
