IT was wonderful!!!!! and yes I did have a tear or two....if you are ever in a postion to do this ..you should...the pin is WONDERFUL..and the picture and certificate will last a LIFE TIME!!!!!
People were coming up and saying THAN YOU to him,,,It was a GREAT day!!!!!

How did you manage to get selected to participate? I am active duty Air Force and this is definitely something I would love to do for my trip next month. Any tips would be appreciated.

Yes, please share...my dh is active duty Army and we'll be there in three more weeks. I'd like to know more about the flag retreat (time, place, details) and how to get selected for it (for him). He'll soon be heading back to the hotbed sandbox and this would be a great memory for all of us to share with him before he leaves. Thanks!

We are going the first week of Dec. I have it arranged for my DH to participate on Dec 2. He just retired from the Air Force Reserves after 24 yrs. I thought it would be a great suprise.
I contacted AKL Concierge and they arranged it through guest services at MK.
The flag retreat happens every night at 5pm in MK at the flag pole in front of the train station.
I hope you can get this arranged for your DH.
