I HAVE to get my husband into a passport office sometime next week to get his passport renewed and one for the baby. Has anyone been to an office lately in the GTA area? Was it a really long wait in the offices? What time were you there at? I was thinking about getting him to go to the Brampton office since they are open Saturdays. Thanks!

We both went two weeks ago (my wife and I). To the office in Whitby. Had our pictures taken in the mall. Wait was about 15 minutes at noon. They were both renewals. We had them in our hands 9 days later. We were given the 'short' forms to fill in (got them about a week before we went in).

Go early in the morning. The Mississauga office is usually quite busy but VERY efficient. The earlier you get there the less wait you will have. Also, for the renewal you can fill out the forms on the internet and have them ready. There is a special line designated for renewal forms filled out on line - perhaps they will let you do both at the same tellar ?

Ok so maybe not recently but I did use the Brampton Office last year around this time on a Sat. morning. I got there about 1 hr before opening and people where already lined up. But that being said I had filled out the online appilication and printed it off. I was put in a seperate line and was in and out of the office in about 30 min's. ( And thats with doing 6 passports).
If you haven't been to the Brampton office ... it is in a strip mall and its a store front. You could more than likely sit in your car untill the office opened.

As I said I got there about an hour before opening and there was about 30 people in front of me. After the office opened it took about 15 min to get in and then maybe 30 min till I was done.

Oh and I got my passports in the time the said no deals ( i think it was 14 days).

So they are still giving seperate numbers for online apps? Ugh, I did his out on an application that he picked up. I will redo it online because anything that gets me out of an office faster with 2 little children on my own will be worth the time. Thanks so much for the tip!

I was just at the Whitby passport office yesterday. I had NO ONE in front of me. I was there at 2:00pm. It was dead in there.

ENJOY:)

Went to the Hamilton office yesterday, and have to go back for missed document :headache: but they said passport demands right now are down or less then normal, so they expect them faster then normal

My husband was at the Kitchener office just after lunch one day with no one in front of him and he got in the mail in less than 2 weeks!!

We went to the Brampton office this morning and got there 45 minutes after the doors opened and the place was absolutely packed. Make sure to bring a good book!

* filled out forms online and printed them [2 adults and 2 kids]
* got photos done at CAA
* arrived Mississauga office just after 10am [I did all 4 of us alone]
* 3 people in line in front of me, took 5 minutes to get the the counter
* took a number, was 3rd in line, took about 5 minutes to get to 2nd counter
* 10 minutes with processor
* received passports in 2 weeks

Went to office behind Scarborough Town Center and was in and out in exactly an hour. They now charge to pick up passports, so I'm just having mailed. Was in on July 4 and they said would be mailed to me no later than July 18. Hope they're right as we're heading to States on July 29. Since we're driving, we still have the birth certificates in case they don't arrive in time.

I went to the Kitchener office in the middle of the afternoon, after filling out the form online and getting my photos done at Zehrs. I was given a number, waited probably 5 minutes, and then we were done and out the door. They told me the passport would arrive in about 10 days but it was actually only 6 days later that it came! I was impressed!

Teresa (who is going to New Zealand in September with this shiny new passport!)

I have used both North York (4900 Yonge St) and Whitby. North York was harder to find parking but every efficient especially first thing in the morning. The one whitby was great but it was a far drive for me as I am from Toronto.

used the brampton office, during a weekday, and was in/out in 20 mins...

passports arrived in 9 days : )

very positive experiance..

Update - was in Scarborough office on July 4 to submit paperwork/photos and received them in mail on July 15. Pretty quick now.

Just thought I'd let you know that I went to the Whitby office on July 10th (no lineup) and received my passports on July 18th. How's that for quick!!

:woohoo:

we were getting our baby's passport to go to WDW. I was worried about timing and was willing to pay for expedited service. When I went the woman told me not to bother because there was no wait really. I went on a Monday and the passport was in my mailbox on the Friday.
We went early (right when it opened) and didn't wait at all. They were very pleasant.

I went to the Whitby office last Thursday and my passport was delivered to me today :). There was absolutely no wait in the office at all, we walked in at around 10:15 and were served immediately.

I also went to the Whitby Passport office on July 24th at around 2:30pm and walked straight up to the desk. Passport will be ready by Aug 8th :thumbsup2
