Well db has applied for tickets for the athletics and gymnastics. Anyone else applied? Gonna stay the night hopefully god knows how much tht will cost!!!!

I have applied for tickets for the Opening & Closing ceremonies, hockey, road cycling & tennis. I'm fortunate as I only live a short train journey from London so won't need to stay:thumbsup2

I've applied for opening and closing ceremonies, archery and swimming. They were all the cheapest seats but it was surprising how quickly the total mounted up. :scared1:

I've also applied, only for track and field event.....thought it is a once in a lifetime opertunity....now need to keep my fingers crossed:thumbsup2

I did look at ordering tickets for the gymnastics. They wanted £50 for cheapest tickets for the men's final but the thought of being stuck at the back with no view put me off.

I REALLY dont like the idea of having to pick & pay in advance with no hope of knowing what u will get. I think the system is wrong - you shouldn't have to fork out ££££ in the hope of getting one of your choices.

It'll be the tv for me I'm afraid. I can think of lots of other things to spend my £££ on - even if it is supposedly a once in a lifetime opportunity.:sad2:
(just re-read & I don't mean to sound rude. We are great sports events fans & go to quite a few events but I just don't like the way it is being done. I agree it is a fab opportunity to be there but I feel like it will be like being right at the back of the concert - great experience cr*p view unless you fork out a fortune!)

We have applied for opening and closing ceromonies, some athletics, diving, swimming and rowing. I also don't really like the fact that you have to commit to buying everything that you apply for. I guess many people will have applied for more than they are actually wanting to spend in the knowledge that they won't get most of them. I have a feeling that there will be lots of very disappointed people and then lots of over priced tickets on eBay from people who ended up spending more than they wanted.

The organisers will be setting up an official resale website for unwanted tickets so hopefully most of the unneeded tickets will end up on there at reasonable prices.

I have applied for tickets for the 3 day event :thumbsup2

If you look through the FAQ you are not allowed to sell unwanted tickets for above face value and the person buying has to attend.

I've applied for 2 events at the Olympic Park - cycling and handball. No real reason for choosing these other than wanting to go to events at the Olympic village whather than an existing venue.

Both are on the same day - morning and afternoon so hoping to make it a day trip - although I imagine the train tickets will be more expensive than normal!

would love to apply for tickets as it will be a once in a lifetime opportunity but don't really want to commit all that money up front. I wondered if you hae more chance of getting something if you applied for lots of events but didn't want to take the chance of ending up with everything or being disappointed if I applied for just 1 or 2 things and ended up with nothing.

DH suggested we keep the money and buy a new tv :rotfl:

When do we find out if we have got the tickets we applied for?

When the money is taken out of your account. ;) I think it was June they said the notifications would go out.

EDIT: By 24th June according to the timeline here.

Just think if the interest they are making as well off our money!!!! Iv left it quite late and to be honest dont think we will get ours although i did try to pick less popular days. Just going to say "we were there" sort of thing but the train fare will prob be more than the tickets!! My db and ii dont go anywhere much and he said when it was announced he would like to go. Hope you all get your tickets

We've applied for 3 athletic sessions, tennis and cycling. Really crossing my fingers :)

We've gone for athletics, swimming, diving, basketball, cycling & gymnastics. We put in for ourselves and 2 friends so the total was about £2K :scared1:

It is a ballot system so whatever day you apply you get an equal chance of getting tickets.

For those who don't know if you get tickets you get a tube travelcard free for that day.

We've applied for Cycling, Swimming & Diving.

Fingers crossed we all get at least one of the one's we have chosen. :wizard:

I've applied for the modern pentathalon ... seemed like a good choice as you get 5 events in 3 locations, and as the closing ceremony is the same day stuck a bid in for the cheapest tickets ... I know its highly unlikely but worth a long shot.

Also bid for a cheap athletics day in the hope we may get lucky!

applied for opening and closing

I've applied for tickets for the Opening & Closing ceremonies too.

I read about that in the paper, at the time I applied I didn't know so its even better.

I had to laugh reading about a lady moaning because she left it to the last minute to apply & the site had problems, she said it was wrong! she had 6 weeks to apply:confused3
