Wasn't sure where else to post there so I'll start here.

Is anyone here a D23 member? Do you like it? Is it worth it?

I wanted to get a copy of the D23 magazine to see if it would be worth joining, but apparently you can't buy them unless you're already a member. Any insight/feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks!

You can buy the magazines in any large bookstore. No need to be a member. And I am no longer a member, I felt it wasn't worth it.

I like being a member of D23. The little Disney touches that come with the magazines are fun (like my misspelled Monorail patch that came with one magazine for instance), and I love the membership gifts (ex: my bandleader Mickey Mouse D23 watch)

However, I am unable to attend most of the membership opportunities, but those alone would make the membership worth it for me if I lived near where they occurred. What makes the membership worthwhile to me is the magazine. It is beautiful, and I don't get into a bookstore that often, so I like having that subscription.

Overall, it's weather or not you decide if it is worth it to you. If you like the idea of the gifts/membership only events, then join up. If you just want the magazine, then get the magazine at the booksellers.

I like being a member also......love the magazine. It is beautiful.....and all the little extras are great.

It's worth it to us. When we were in WDW in Orlando last October, there was a D23 "Sip & Stroll" event during Food & Wine that we were very pleased with. We've heard that there are more "events" in Disneyland, but we haven't been to any there.

The magazine is terrific, but I've seen it at Barnes & Noble &/or Borders. Our son also got the least expensive membership (without the magazine) so he could sign up for the Sip & Stroll.

I am a member but I have the one without the magazines. We're trying to cut down on kept clutter so that helps.

It is worth it if you are near a larger city where they have events. I attended something on the Disney lot in Burbank and the nice fellow sitting next to us had flown in just for the event from Utah. UTAH! Los Angeles was the closest event he could into, so he bought a plane ticket.

I thought that was very sweet yet maddening! I also think that the D23 people must know where most of their members live and do try to schedule more events not in Anaheim or Orlando where some of the other members can attend.
