We are planning our first stay at a Epcot resort. We are very excited and lookign forward to just relaxing. It will be a very busy weekend (Memorial day), but it is the only time we can get away for three nights.

Anyway, we are planning on just spending time at our resort and meandering over to Epcot one evening and maybe once in the morning (for just a couple of hours). Has anyone done this and how did it go? Did you miss the other parks? We are really looking to relax on this trip, since we always run around so much!

It seems like a good plan for a short time. I have many trips under my belt and would consider this a doable idea. There is so much to do in the Epcot resort area - so many restaurants, too. I might have a twinge to go to the MK. I just feel so sentimental about that park.

When we do the 4-day cruises, we always plan one full day at a park pre-cruise. We haven't chosen Epcot as that park yet, but we usually choose MGM. We don't have any regrets about that, though. A little Disney is better than no Disney at all. :)

This sounds like a great plan. I would probably end up walking over to MGM as well as it is only a 10 minute walk from the BC. As you know there is enough to do in that area to fill 3 days and the BC is a lovely resort. When I stayed there I spent a great morning floating around the lazy river at stormalong bay.

Makes sense to me! :D

Sometimes we let the pressure of having to "do it all" get to our common sense. We should each do what feel comfortable to ourselves. My family will be there for a whole week and we don't plan to visit AK once! ;) It is not our favorite park and we would rather have an extra day somewhere else (like a water park or hang around our resort and relax).

So do what works best for you and don't worry about what others think you should be doing. I love Epcot myself!:D

Well, Epcot is our favorite park! Our DS (6) LOVES to color, so the WS IS Disney to him! He can't wait to eat at Teppanyaki again. He also had the passport last time and loved having it stamped and written in. While we might miss the MK, it is Mem. Day weekend-meaning heat and CROWDS. Epcot is a bit more manageable. We did it this past Thanksgiving Day and it seemed just like any other day there. I am patiently (yeah right) waiting for some codes to come out. Right now we are pretty flexible, too. If we can't get an Epcot resort, we'll do something else. It's so nice NOT to have a "do or die" plan for a change!!!!!!!

We've stayed at YC, BC, and BV. Whenever we're there, I always reserve at least one afternoon and early evening to just wander (by myself without kids) around EPCOT. It's always one of my favorite times of the trip.
