Went today, loved basically everything I tried. Highlights:
Canada: Cheddar Cheese Soup, Maple custard, Ice Wine
Both were AWESOME. I look forward to that cheese soup every year. And that maple custard was incredible. Ice Wine, as always, was delicious.
US: Lobster Roll
Very good...not fresh Maine lobster
good...but VERY, VERY good anyway.
Greece: Panakopitta
Basically, a spinach pie. But maybe the best one I've ever had.
France: Goat Cheese pastry, Sparkling Pomegranate Kir
The Goat Cheese was incredible. Maybe my favorite food item of the day. The Pomegranate Kir was great. I don't know if I liked this or the Ice Wine better...
Italy: Pizza alla Salsiccia
VERY good sausage pizza.
Ireland: Lamb Stew & Guinness
Lamb stew was good. The gravy was outstanding. And, of course, guinness on tap is always
Turkey: Meze (Circassian Chicken)
This was pretty good. Probably the least favorite of what I tried. Essentially just spiced chicken with some hummus/pita bread. Not bad.
That's all I tried today. I'm going back in a couple weeks and plan to try a handful of different countries, including Mexico, Argentina, Poland, Hops & Barley (crab cakes), and probably Spain.
I also attended the Samuel Adams History Of Beer In America presentation. They gave samples of 4 different types of Sam Adams beer, gave some background on the company and how beer is made, and gave out REALLY COOL pewter keychain bottle-cap openers. Definitely worth going to.
Oh, and the lines at times were pretty darn long. They came out in droves today...about 6 PM some of the lines were ridiculously long. But earlier in the day they weren't that bad.
