Anymore F&W Trip Reviews??

Went today, loved basically everything I tried. Highlights:

Canada: Cheddar Cheese Soup, Maple custard, Ice Wine
Both were AWESOME. I look forward to that cheese soup every year. And that maple custard was incredible. Ice Wine, as always, was delicious.

US: Lobster Roll
Very good...not fresh Maine lobster good...but VERY, VERY good anyway.

Greece: Panakopitta
Basically, a spinach pie. But maybe the best one I've ever had.

France: Goat Cheese pastry, Sparkling Pomegranate Kir
The Goat Cheese was incredible. Maybe my favorite food item of the day. The Pomegranate Kir was great. I don't know if I liked this or the Ice Wine better...

Italy: Pizza alla Salsiccia
VERY good sausage pizza.

Ireland: Lamb Stew & Guinness
Lamb stew was good. The gravy was outstanding. And, of course, guinness on tap is always :cool1:

Turkey: Meze (Circassian Chicken)
This was pretty good. Probably the least favorite of what I tried. Essentially just spiced chicken with some hummus/pita bread. Not bad.

That's all I tried today. I'm going back in a couple weeks and plan to try a handful of different countries, including Mexico, Argentina, Poland, Hops & Barley (crab cakes), and probably Spain.

I also attended the Samuel Adams History Of Beer In America presentation. They gave samples of 4 different types of Sam Adams beer, gave some background on the company and how beer is made, and gave out REALLY COOL pewter keychain bottle-cap openers. Definitely worth going to.

Oh, and the lines at times were pretty darn long. They came out in droves today...about 6 PM some of the lines were ridiculously long. But earlier in the day they weren't that bad.

went thurs to soft opening and then yesterday for a few hours (my roommate's birthday so we had to go again) and it's increadible this year- i'll have a lot more to post in a few days, but i'm going back tomorrow and then next weekend when the sis comes to visit (i'm doing several booths at a time so that way i don't go broke and so i don't gain 50 lbs eachtime)

I went today and I thought it was pretty bad. I only had one thing, some spanish meatball which was good but everything else except for a very few things looked horrible.

I went yesterday. The booths from Canada to AA didn't have any displays of what the food looked like,so if you wanted to know what it looked like, you had to stand there and watch what people ordered, which was very awkward. I went to the first chocolate seminar and the host,Pam Smith, was incredibly rude to the chocolate expert. She constantly interrupted him and never let him finish his thought. She ignored my hand up twice when the floor was opened for questions even though she could plainly see me since I was at the front table. I went to see the 5:45 Survivor show. The right side of the theater under the overhang was reserved forpress only. When the show started, there were maybe 40-50 people in that area, but Disney refused to open the area so that all the people that were standing could sit down. I sincerely hope that they get their act together and improve things before I go back in a couple weeks.

That's why you eat food and not just look at it. ;)

Different strokes for different folks, but it was very similar to years past, and in my opinion some of the items were better than in the past.

Hmm...so your assessment is that the F&W Fest was bad based on only one item that you actually tried, which you enjoyed?!?

:confused3

I based it off the fact that out of everything they had only 5 things looked decent.

my roommates and i have now done almost all of the stations (there's five of us over a two day span- and we'll be doing it every weekend till it's over) and we've all absolutely loved it!!! i think the food is all up to how the people percieve it- everything is very authintic, so if you're not willing to try new things, then it's not for you- the only thing that has not gone over well was the noodle salad in thiland (it tasted like smoke), at every spot we bought the food and split it between everyone, mexico was a fave and escargo in france was better than when i ate it over in paris! we decided to skip the chocolate truffles but instead have the crembule with champigne instead- i loved the kibosa in poland and the pretizel and sourcrowt with sausage in germany

My DH and I were there on Friday. He made the round twice. I drink a little but I really do not enjoy wine. He on the other had tasted 25 different wines. Some were mine that I did not like. He like most of them. We ate at Australia and got Shrimp on the Barbie and the Beef. We loved the Morroco station with the Chicken Bastilla we had two each. We both got the Swedish Meatballs at Norway, they were really good.

I enjoyed the Orange and Lemon Slushes at France. The lines were very light but we arrived at 11am and left around 2pm. We wanted to stay for a wine tasting at 2:30, but DH had had enough. :rotfl2: All I can say is thank goodness for the monorail.

We had a great time and look forward to getting back someday. We missed the kids and will not be taking another trip without them for awhile.
