Anychanges besides price to 2013 DDP?

Anyone notice any major change on the 2013 DDP? I read somewhere that Le Cellier is now going to be 2 credits even for lunch...

Thats the only change I saw, Le Cellier being 2 credits for lunch. Though that *might* be an error. But as of now, its listed on the brochure as being 2 credits for lunch and dinner.

Missing restaurants don't bother me, because they are ALWAYS missing from the booklet this time of year.
Disney and the parent companies are currently "negotiating their participation" in the dining plan. AKA...a giant game of chicken.
They'll be in there, they don't want to miss out on any of the Dining plan money!!!

The restaurants that are not operated by Disney will not be added to the brochures until later. They have until the end of the year to renew their contracts. Until then you are going to notice most restaurants at Epcot, Downtown Disney and the Coronado Springs Resort missing from the 2013 restaurant lists.

Yes. Y&Y is owned by Landry's (I believe), the same company that owns and operates T-Rex and RFC (which also are notably missing ). (I could be totally wrong on who owns them, but it's not Disney at any rate )

Pretty much any restaurant that is not Disney owned and operated will not be on the list until the brochure gets reprinted at the end of the year (and then... sometimes, they forget to add them... e.g. Hacienda and Via Napoli last year)

As a special note, only 1 restaurant has ever dropped participation in the dining plan. This was Fulton's after the first year of the plan. They recently rejoined for 2012 (along with several others joining for the first time). While it's always possible for restaurants to drop, I think the chances of them staying on are much higher.

The 2nd one already exists in practice (just not in writing) at Marrakesh. Whether or not they'll add the same thing to other prix fixe menus will have to wait to be seen, but I'm doubting it. If it does happen, I'd hope that they'd at least lighten up on the no substitutions portion of it (but I'd also doubt that).

The first one is... interesting, but we can't really discuss it here or Nala will shut us down! Best move that talk on over to the tipping thread. (I have much <3 for Nala around these parts, I'm sure I've made her hair turn gray on more than one occasion.... like that whole CC hold thread from last October...)

I am not talking about this in a "we don't tip" way (we do tip), but more in the "why is is automatic if you order something extra that is oop" way.

being redeemed for Guests ages 10+ on your Disney Dining Plan and the
number of meals or snacks being redeemed for Guests ages 3-9 on your
Disney Dining Plan.

Guests ages 3-9 must order from a children’s menu where available.
e Gratuities are not included except at Dinner Shows, Private In-Room
Dining and Cinderella’s Royal Table.

• An additional form of payment is needed if you add a gratuity and have
not provided a credit card at check-in to charge incidentals and other

That may be what they "mean", but that is not what it says. It doesn't say anything about only doing this if it is a party of 6 or more.

No matter what it looks like it says, this is exactly what it means. They want to remind guests that they may have to pay an automatic tip on off-plan items as well as dining plan items, if they qualify to pay one. It does not say that ALL guests will be assessed a mandatory tip only on off-plan items in all circumstances, which is apparently how you are reading it. It is there to reduce confusion about off-plan items which are billed separately. There have been questions about "I know it's assessed on the dining plan bill but what about anything else we order?" The giveaway is that they use the words "MAY ALSO be added," not "WILL be added." Thank you law school, they teach you to read stuff like this.

Unless Disney officially announces to the contrary, which they haven't, unless you are party of six or using a Tables in Wonderland card you don't need to worry about it.

That makes me feel better. I was concerned because a number of my favorite QS restaurants are missing, including Cooke's, Cantina, and Wolfgang Puck Express. Although I won't be surprised if WPE isn't put back on the list. It's such a good value.

I don't know why I care since I'm going to purchase TIW and don't plan to purchase DDP any more. I just like to know I have options.

I saw this on mousesavers, but haven't seen it anywhere else.

There is only one major change from the 2012 packages: the regular Dining Plan no longer includes appetizers for children. (Adult appetizers were deleted from the plan two years ago.)

Has anyone heard anything about this? Mary is very accurate with her info, however I haven't seen this anywhere else. And does it mean both CS and TS meals no longer have an appetizer for kids?

The latest 2012 brochure also doesn't list appetizers for kids. They probably just removed the text as it didn't really fit. The apps for kids weren't really apps, but more part of the kids' meals themselves. It also led to a lot of confusion.

Though "Special Dining Events with special menus offered at certain Table-Service locations" has been added to the list of stuff that isn't included. This is also more clarification as those things (e.g. Dine with an Imagineer, Chef's Wine Tasting at Flying Fish, Wishes Dessert Party) were not covered before either.

Oh, ok. I agree the wording didn't really make sense, since the language on the menus referred to "two sides" with a kids meal, not so much an appetizer and dessert. Thanks!

It looks like they defined the cancellation policy to say "reservation must be cancelled by 10pm the day prior to the date of your reservation or a per person cancellation fee may be incurred."
