Shocking....

I sky+ it to watch later but I saw that clip on tv the other day and I was horrified!

thats terrible :scared1:

Did not watch this but itmake you wonder what it's doing to there insides having food like that and at such a young age.:confused3

Shame full

Not sure that salmon was the ideal choice for families with not much of a food budget!

For a family that had so little money how the hell could they afford to live on take-aways (and have money left for smoking!).

Got to agree with you Tim - I thought the same thing. For us takeaways are a rare extravagence - it is far cheaper to cook it yourself.

Will be interesting to see how the project progresses

I totally agree, as the programme went on and the main participant said she hadn't kept up with the cooking as she was skint and hold sold her jewellery (although still dripping gold) and then lit up a cigerette......:headache: :headache:

Surely these people must know the dangers of giving children food like that every night.... I wouldn't ever give my DD's a donor kebab - I've managed to get to 36 and never have one myself and believe me, it wasn't hard! Thats's not to say I haven't had a chicken kebab, quite like those ones, actually;)

I'm not a food snob, we eat simple home cooked meals every night, nothing fancy - I don't work and I am at home so I see this as my job.

The take-away restaurants of Rotherham are probably going to take a hit out on Jamie!

I think it all boils down to not teaching cookery in school, how it used to be - from scratch.. my two dd's in high school when doing cookery have been told to bring in a pizza base, chocolate roll etc, also cookery lessons aren't long enough so thats why it is done for quickness.
we now have a generation of kids and young adults that think throwing a pizza in the oven is cooking.
my dd's have been taught to cook by me and can do some good meals, my cookery skills were gained from my mum who those days used to make everything from scratch as there wasnt the processed foods about or big supermarkets around. and also i learnt from cookery lessons in school.

I agree they need to teach more in school (and maybe add in classes on managing your own finances, wish I'd had that at school!). My son spent all of his lessons taking in the bread type muffins, tomato puree and toppings for his 'pizza' ! They never seem to make anything from scratch these days. My daughter had her first cookery lesson yesterday and had to take in 5 fruits and a tin of fruit + small carton of juice. That was fruit salad. It came home looking more like fruit soup:rotfl:

We've recorded it. I wish I'd had cooking lessons at school.
