I know it's not a "Disney" hotel but it is not far from it. They have buses to all the Disney parks too and I looked at the website and it looks pretty cool for kids. If I am not mistaken...most or all of the rooms are suites with the parents having a Queen or King size bed, the kids have bunk beds. They have 3 T.V.'s. The pools look really cook with really fun looking slides. They are also supposed to have a huge arcade. My boys are 10 and 8 years old so they would love it.

Just wondering if anybody has tried it and what they thought.

you might check the Orlando Hotels and Attractions board I have seen reviews for the Nick Hotel over there. Or you might try a search for some reviews too...I have read some and it seems like it is a great place to stay (the pools sound really fun too!).

Mind you, it wasn't the Nick hotel yet, but it was the same layout! The kids LOVED it, we actually spent 2 fulldays at the hotel. We assume it'll be a bit different this year but hopefully even more fun. The food wasn't the greatest but that's not why we were there. The rooms were spacious and clean, the staff was great, and the kids were more than happy with the amenities! I can't wait till we go back.

We couldn't stay there during this trip it was booked but I was shocked at how close it was to the Disney sign. It was the closest to the parks outside Disney property. In fact it looked like it was on the property and looked so cool for kids. I will definatly try it next time we head down. It looked like a kid pleaser.

I do not like the hotel myself, the rooms are small about 400 sq ft and not very clean. They are renovating so that may be a good thing. They do not offer the free breakfast and the transportation only runs 3 times in the morning and is on a first come basis. Three times I had to catch a taxi $25.00 each way. For the price you pay, try the Caribe royale, the suites are 600 sq ft and newly renovated, and they come with tickets and free breakfast, the buses to the parks are still 3 times in the morning but the rooms and the 15ft slide make up for it. If you want convience and food included, stay onsite in the value resorts or even moderate resorts, it is worth it and the shuttle to and from the airport is free. The Contemporary is the best for the deluxe value and runs about $244 per night standard room, many times they will upgrade you for free but not always. the rooms there are 437 sqft and very comfortable for the price. the tickets are about $214 for adults 5day hopper and $196 for (3-9) and the meal plan is $10 per child and $35 per day for adults (2 meals and a snack) I love it. I think that the food is free is you go August 21st to October (?) check it out. That will save you lots of money and you can put the extra savings into upgrading your rooms. Also for alittle more, try Old Key West Villas (1 bdrm, it is awesome and 1012 sq ft full kitchen, whirlpool tub and king bed) fabo!!!!!!
Good luck and have fun no matter what, you will be going back for years to come and can stay somewhere different each time!!!! :earsboy:

I like both hotels, but this information is not accurate.

Kidsuites at Nickelodeon Family Suites (Nick Hotel) are 485 square feet. 1-bedroom suites at Caribe Royale vary in size: some are 466 sq. ft. and some are 500 sq. ft.

In short, the suites are about the same size at both hotels.

There are some other errors of fact in msnina0417's post.

Caribe Royale does NOT include tickets or free breakfast, except as part of a package that costs a lot more.

It is true that Caribe Royale has a beautiful pool with slide. However, there are TWO pools at Nick Hotel and they now both have elaborate slides and other water features. So I don't think it's fair to suggest that Caribe's pool is better.

I have been in the new rooms at the Caribe Royale and for 5 nights in a king suite 600 sq ft as I told today, there are tickets for a four day package but you had to book early and they still have packages available that include tickets and room, you should always book early> My total package with 4day hopper and king suite that holds 2ad 2ch 1infant was $1675 AAA discount including free buffet breakfast. I still have the reservation. Like I memtioned before that the nick suites are being upgraded, I have stayed there 3 times and each time its fine but nothing great, If you add up food, tickets, room and airport transportation, you come out cheaper but more inconvienced with the bus schedule, with little ones you do not want to be rushed. The pool had been upgraded but is still just a pool, and for the money you are paying to go to the parks, you probally will spend little time there anyway with the limited bus schedule.

We've had two bad experiences there when it was just the "Holiday Inn Family Suites" so I would never even attempt to go back there again. (my boys cringe at the mention of this place believe it or not)

The suites are not that big and there just seems to be too much going on it the rooms themselves. It just was not our cup of tea. For what they are charging, I would try looking around for other reviews and check all avenues. The best thing there is the pool and even that had some issues last we were there. The transportation to the parks was a joke...you had to schedule it a day ahead?? Excuse me.......::::;blink;:::::

best of luck to the OP,

That's not true. I just read on the website that Disney busses require 24 hour advanced reservations, so it's not first come first serve anymore.

Bumping cause I'm also considering staying for one night before we go into Disney. Also, what would be the best way to transport lugguge to Disney resort?

We stayed there for two nights June 29 and June 30th. The kids had a ball. We're a family of five and the room was plenty big enough. DDs enjoyed the bunk beds and ds loved his little bed. DH and I had a king bed. There was a little living/kitchen area that was fine. THe room that we had looked out over the late and was near the lagoon pool.

They have tons of kids activities. We didn't do anything else, except go to DTD one night. We just let the kids enjoy the kids shows and activities. They even got a "slime time" drink from the pool bar.

THe only bad part I thought was that the food wasn't very good. They had a small food court with pizza hut express and an A&W which was fine for lunch but the buffets weren't very good. The character breakfast was only okay. After the first night we ended up going to RFC at DTD for dinner the second night.

It was a fun place for kids though - the pools are like water parks.

We're there now and we're satisfied. Sure, we could make a few nits about the place but the rooms are just as nice or nicer than Disney's. It's nice to have a separate room for the kids without having to get two rooms or pay six or severn times more for a suite. We think it's a bargain for a place with a built-in water park. We don't expect gourmet meals here but the made-to-order omelet I had at the character meal this morning was a lot better (egg-wise) than I've ever had at a Disney character breakfast. Sure, the place is not Disney but we don't expect it to be. The kids are having fun and that makes us happy.

going to call them later today to make my ressie for a 2 bedroom kidsuite for dd(8)'s bday in sept. Plan to spend one day at the hotel just letting the kids play then the other at Seaworld(we have an extra day from our last trip) Any thoughts on the prices- moussavers discount price?

We went there 2 years ago and I thought it was okay. It is a lot more money now and I would not pay the prices they are asking. Our room was very clean and we were put in a quiet spot. Having the extra space was nice and the kids love the bunk beds. I liked that the hotel had exterior corridors. The food was TERRIBLE. We do not require gourmet food buit fresh is important. Everything was processed and really nasty when we went. I have heard that they have made changes with their menu but it is still not good. These are my personal thoughts and I hope that they help you.

Dont forget that its been changed over to a whole new theme etc since 2 years ago so reviews from then may not be totally accurate to how it is now

When we were there last month the housekeeping was spotless. I was really surprised too that we didn't hear any noise. The kids loved the pools and really enjoyed the activities. I think it's a fun place and the room was plenty big enough for the five of us. My kids want to go back again next year.

Just returned yesterday 8/1/05. My mom, my son (5), and I had a 2 bedroom suite. Son loved the bunk beds. I slept on the bottom bunk and it was not bad.

The food was not good at all!! We would leave the property to get meals. McDonalds was a step up. We also heard a lot of noise. I woke up several times every night do to noise from other rooms. The people were not being too loud, there just was not any sound proofing at all. I was also disappointed at all the nickel and diming. They ofter great activities, but all are for a price. My son painted 2 wooden dino puzzles ($5 each) you could get your face painted (fee) or get a balloon animal ($5- $10) you get the idea.

We LOVED the water slides. We spent 2 full days at the pools (leaving for lunch and dinner) Everyone working there was very friendly and focused on the children.

I'm glad we tried this resort, but will not stay again.

I dont know of any hotels in the area that offer face painting or crafts etc. for no charge...

Maybe it was our room location but we didn't hear any noise at all. We were on the 4th floor facing the lake and it was very quiet. All the activities my kids participated in (at the pool and at night) were free.

well-I just booked a kidsuite w/ bunkbeds. Originally booked direct w/ the hotel but I just checked online and saved $20 a day by booking online w/ the AAA discount rather than the Moussavers discount. I'll call and cancel the original ressie-

I was told that the adult bed was a queen but I reserved a king- does anyone know which it is? (we're used to King) Also- plan to arrive Sat night and hang out at the hotel then and most of Sunday- is there enough at the pools to keep us occupied or should I budget for another activity for 1/2 the day? We're planning to do Seaworld on Monday for dd's bday-and will do the free Character breakfast on Monday too. I want to eat Breakfast/lunch at the hotel since kids are free but I am getting fearsome by the food reviews! Maybe a movie/dinner deal at Universal for Saturday nite?
