Can't wait -- it's so hard to find a movie that 9 year old girl and 13 year old boy plus one in between all will hopefully enjoy.

I still remember this game. I had my head under the couch screaming!!!

I like Kurt Russell (he's a fellow Kings fan, you know
but I'm reserving judgment on his ability to play Coach Brooks.
I also can't wait to hear the horribly bad fake Boston accents that the guys playing Eruzione, Craig, Silk and the other Boston boys will have. Having said all that, I'm quite sure that the pure emotion of reliving the moment will overcome any shortcomings the movie may have. The commercials almost get me misty.

I'm taking ten 11-yr. old boys for my son's birthday party next Sunday. Most of the boys, including my son, are hockey players so they are VERY excited. I hope the movie lives up to everybody's expectations!

I cannot wait for this movie to come out!!! Only problem is my best friend from home is comming up to visit next weekend, and I'm already dragging her to our hockey game...I don't know if she could deal with a game AND a movie about hockey

The USSR v. USA game was probably the only time in history you'd find a bunch of small town southern sorority girls - most of whom had never seen a live hockey game in their lives - huddled around a TV screaming - and then crying - their heads off. I'll never forget it. I hope the movie does them justice.

There was a thread the other day - someone had seen a sneak preview and the reviews were wonderful!

I'm thrilled to say I will let you know what I think, am going to tonite's sneak preview here at 7:30 Went over to the theatre at 11:20 this morning when they opened to get my tix. DH said I was nuts and he's probably right, I just wanted to get them this morning and not hassle with the lines for that and all the other shows at the complex on a Saturday night.

It was great.....a good family movie....
'specially if you like hockey

Being a hockey fan, from the Boston area, having just graduated from college in '79.... and all the "background" historical stuff in the movie.....
we really enjoyed it!

Minnesotan checking in here...all they have been talking about this week on the radio is this flick. Herb Brooks died just a few months ago up here in a car crash so a lot of people are feeling the wounds again. Herb's son Dan was just on today and he had watched a preview with one of the players a while back and he said they both kept saying to each other at different scenes, "Did that really happen?" and then he saw it again with his mom recently and he said they both came out of it speechless. Apparently they both feel it was well done and Dan specifically said that Kurt Russell spent a lot of time with his dad learning about his mannerisms and such. Dan said it was almost eerie watching the movie because Kurt portrayed his dad so well.

I can't wait to see this but I am not sure when. This sounds like it's going to be one of those feel-good movies that everyone should see.
