Hi! You all won't believe what happened to me. I had gone to my family doctor Tuesday to get my blood pressure perscriptions renewed. I had a problem with circulation problems in both of my legs which resulted in sores in the past which never healed properly. Well to make a long story short my doctor asked to see them didn't like how they were healing and sent me to the hospital. I was just released late this afternoon. Thought I would never get out. I admit the legs wounds are doing much better, but I thought I would never get home.

Now I have to go for some kind of massage therapy to get the fluids out of my legs and will have to wear some special support stockings. Sure is hard keeping my legs elevated while on the computer. Impossible while I am typing.

I am so tired since I haven't slept much so I won't be on too long this evening.

I've been to prison

welcome back

I hope you get to feeling better soon. :) Can I get you something to drink? :)

Thank you everyone for the well wishes.

When I am done with the antibiotics I'll take you up on that drink Sherry.
The sores were really bad so I had tons in the hospital and have to continue it orally at home.

Have to go on a diet too. :scared1: claims losing weight will help the circulation. I admit I have put on A LOT.

welcome home!good to have you back!

Didn't sleep much in hospital. Very sleepy so I am going to bed early. yes I know it is only a little after 8 but I am so tired. Talk to all of you tomorrow. Nighty night.

Susan,

I hope you get some sleep.

It sounds like you're dealing with what I have been for the past year, however, your case must be much worse. I've got Chronic Vascular Syndrome, which causes blood to pool in my leg...I've had a vein stripped with more surgery on the horizon...and these ugly sores!

Hang in there-yes, the support hose make a world of difference. Personally, I prefer the higher weight. Doctor's office gave me some 20's and some 40's. The 30's I picked up myself and the 40's he gave me are my constant companions.

In addition to weight loss, a walking regimen will help the circulation and then the sores. Can't tell you how that works, I have been far to busy (and it's a bit too warm) for me to start this, but it's going to happen soon.

Sorry you had the hospital stay. I hope you don't have to return.

Suzanne

Poohnatic/Suzanne: Thanks so much on the tips on the support hose. I won't be getting mine for a while cause I have to go for some kind of massage therapy first. I guess it is to get rid of fluid in my legs.

Tell you what though the dead skin which is flaking off sure is ugly. I am embarrased to be seen or go out in public. My family talked me into going to the movies today saying no one will see my legs in the dark. My long dresses only hide so much. Oh well....

Susan,

I live in Capri pants with a wide leg. They hardly brush against the sore spots. I end up living in flip flops because the big sore is right on my ankle.

Hang in there. Another thing to do is have some soaks in the tub. You can use aveeno or a gentle moisturizing bath. After I soak for a bit, I can gently rub off the flaky skin. It's made a big difference.

My vascular surgeon referred me to a dermatologist and he prescribed a cream that is working very well. Clobetasol. I'm using it twice a day.

Enjoy your movie. With the prices of them these days, I assure you that people aren't going to be looking at your leg, they'll want to get their moneys worth looking at that big screen!

 hope you are on the mend real soon..

Glad to see you back Susan! :goodvibes Now please do everything that your Dr. tells you to do!

I'm glad they have you on the mend.

As for the dead dry skin, try Neutrogena Healthy Skin Face Lotion. It will help get rid of it.

I hope your legs are much better soon.

Did your doctor talk about Vitamin E supplementation? I take Vitamin E for a circulatory problem I have, and it's great. I wouldn't start it without talking to your doctor, though, since you're on other meds.

My dr claims I shouldn't use any skin creme lotions. I have to see him in a week. By then hopefully the dead skin has fallen off. Since I have dry skin to began with and in several months winter will be here I need to know what I should use so I will ask him.

Thanks for the advice that will be another question I will ask him. All I was told was to take a daily vitamin , but if E helps I will take extra if he says its ok.
