Anybody know how to have something waiting in our room for the kids?

I'd like to have Pal Mickey waiting for them when we go up to the room.............maybe autograph books, too..........................anybody know a way?

We used Gifts of a Lifetime last year and had a nice basket with Pal Mickey, embroidered Mouse ears, postcards, etc. waiting for us in our room when we arrived. The kids loved it. They thought that Mickey Mouse put together that special basket just for them!

If you are staying concierage, the staff there will pick items up for you and arrange to have them in your room for arrival. I have also used Pixie Gifts. They are wonderful and do a great job arranging things. If you are not staying concierage, items won't be in your room when you arrive but are delivered later. This is because room assignments are not definite until someone checks in.

For our trip last Oct, we used the Disney Florist and had a really cute "Mickey Welcome Basket" for my daughter! It was waiting for us in the room on our first night, when we got back from Downtown Disney! Allison loved getting something from Mickey and the Gang!!

For our upcoming trip in Dec, I am packing some Disney party bags with the tissue paper in my suitcase, along with some special "gifts" she will find every morning when she wakes up!! Can't wait to see her face when she gets her gifts every morning!!

We have had the concierge staff do this for us before. The poly and the Yacht club both did a outstanding job and our kids were thrilled. However the BWI concierge really dropped the ball. I was so dissappointed I had explained to the planner exactly what I wanted and she assured me it would be in the room with a card saying welcome from Mickey. Got to the room nothing so we left for the parks thinking it might be there when we got back no nothing.I know that the two gifts had been purchased because my card was charged the day before we left. On the 2nd day of our trip the CM at the concierge desk hands me a bag as we are walking by and said this was delivered for you and inside were the gifts ,unblown up ballons and signed card from mickey to the kids. The CM says this came yesterday and that was it. very disapointing.

We pack our own gift bags and then while I am unpacking the suitcases, Daddy and the boys go and check out the pool, game room, etc. When they get back, I tell them that they missed Mickey, but he left these for them! So far, it has worked everytime!

Your room may be assigned ahead of time but until you check in anyone could be assigned your room. Someone else could be enjoying your surprise so wait and have it put in the room after you check in.

if it's important for them to be IN the room on arrival, you could always check in- get your room keys- have DH help you get the luggage to the door of your room- then send him and the kids down to the foodcourt to get your refillable mugs- if you buy them, or to check out the pool, or find the arcade for reference

Then when they get back- or better yet- GO GET THEM...and exclaim "you wont believe what I found in the room when I opened the door"....they wont know it was you, especially if you just drop the bags inside the door- and meet them quickly.

every morning, when we got to the elevator, I would "forget" something in the room- DH and the DD's would go down to the bus stop, and I would put out their tinkerbell gifts for the day I had downloaded the WDW font, and made them notes from characters I knew they'd see that day. Only 1 day did I have to run back to the room before them, and take the note, as I had cancelled a PS during the day...(it was specific to the lunch)...but this time, what I did was have DH take the girls to the arcade

We've used Gifts of a Lifetime and Pixie Gifts before. Both did great jobs.

We are staying concierge at the Poly for the first time, so I have arranged for them to take care of having shovels and pails (for playing on the beach), autograph books, and a small Mickey stuffed animal for both of our boys on our first night! I really hope they are surprised!!

You can also do a search for DIS member Feralpeg and pm or email her - she delivers very cute baskets, etc. that she puts together - I've seen very positive posts about her work and intend to order from her on my next trip !
