Do they have special menus or are there specific places you have to eat to get a gluten free menu? Thanks!

I will have to ask my friend...she went to WDW a few months ago and needed gluten free..

Good Luck!

oh jeeze I found a post on the dining board about her child needing to be gluten free and WDW is very good with that stuff. Check out that board

LOL-- that's my review-- I was opeing this thread to post a link to it :thumbsup2! The best way to start figuring out GF dining at Disney is to email special diets. Their email is: specialdiets@disneyworld.com You can tell them yourf trip dates (or if you haven't booked, just tell them that you are considering a trip) and your dietary needs. They will email a bunch of info about what sorts of GF food is offered in the parks and which location offer it. We went out today with some friends who wanted to eat at a Burrito place we had never been to before. It was SUCH a hassle figuring out what was safe for DS there (luckily I packed him a lunch "just in case"). I was WISHING we were back at Disney-- it was SO much easier there :wizard:! --Katie

I loved reading your review and I can tell you his food look so good yum

My neighbor has celiacs (sp?). I don't know that there are any menus to plan, but she found every resturaunt very accomdating, including many talks with head chefs.

I've done two gf trips to Disney now and have had mixed results.

Some restaurants are really good. Some not so good. Sometimes the chef comes out and works with you special - but for me this has been the exception, not the rule. Often the GF options I'm presented with are not very good - often they are. Usually its just a subset of the same options everyone else gets, but without the sauces.

Sometimes I'll let them know I'm GF and then I'm treated in a very patronizing manner and the rest of my table is too. (I'm not going to drop dead at your table if I try a small bit of my husband's dish - please respect my choices regarding my own health).

At counter service its a real pain - you can get a GF bun, but you'll stand around for ten minutes while they specially prepare your burger.

I just returned from my trip May 9-16 and I am gluten free. I am still kinda new to this, have only been GF for about 3mths. I found disney to be fantastic about me being GF. I contacted Brenda at special diets and she sent me the info as well as form to fax/email back - where/when eating and what allergies. I also noted it when I made my ADRs. I only had one chef not come out(it was a 2 credit restaurant) to meet with me but all the others who did were great. The best meals were Chef mickeys and 1900 park fare.
Yes at CS you do need to wait a little extra time but I am ok with that. If you go realizing that, I think it is better. They also always sent someone out to speak with me. I did read the special diet info so I picked CS that were on that list. I also asked that the CS at my hotel be informed I was there so they would have some GF stuff on hand that week. Don't be shy about asking, they were great, and you don't want to be sick during vacation.

I want to go back. It was such a nice experience.
