The Disney Store carries a beanbag Nemo wearing a party hat. He is sitting next to a cupcake with a candle on it. Very cute. I think they were $6.

I have always found that children love a "go fish" game. Hang a blue sheet in a corner with someone behind it. Give the children a fishing pole with a cloths pin on the end. They "fish" over the sheet and the person behind there attaches a treat to the pin and they pull it back. It really delights small children. They also love all versons of pin the tail games. Pin the fish in the ocean or the seashelll on the beach or what ever. They love tossing games. A small plastic fish tossed into a tub of water at a distance. Perhaps a twist on the pick up duck game but use fish. Number fish on the botton and float in a tub. Kids pick up a fish and get the prize numbered to match the number on the fish. Remember everyone get a prize if anyone gets a prize. Nemo stikers are fine prizes for little kids.

A fun snack is to pour blue jello into clear plastic cups and add gummy fish. Let set and serve.

What about goldfish crackers?

What about real gold fish for treats??

We had one two years ago for dd. She loved the treasure chest in the tank so we bought little wooden treasure chests and fishy stickers to decorate them with for all the kids. Then we did a 'treasure' hunt in the sandbox to find gold coins and little plastic sea creatures to put in the chests. I also made a Nemo shaped cake. Have fun!!!

If you are looking for gift ideas to go with your theme, disney direct has nemo swim trunks and sun hat for infants/toddlers. I just bought these for my 3 month old. They are VERY cute!!!!

I did a rainbow fish party when my DD was 2yo. We did many of the above ideas, and I also made sugar cookies in the shape of fish and let the kids ice thier own cookies. The other moms thought I was nuts, but the kids were so careful. Her friends still tell me that they remember the cookies from the party.

My son had a Nemo party a couple of years ago, here are some of the things I did:

Finding Nemo - I printed off pictures of Nemo and then put them between clear contact paper and then cut them out. I hid them in the yard and had enough so each child could find two of them.

Pin the Fin on Nemo - My daughter drew Nemo onto a big foam board and then painted it, leaving off his "lucky fin". We then made lucky fins out of orange construction paper and put tape on the back. You know the rest.

Fishing - We made fishing poles out of dowels (?sp), attached a string and on the end put on a fishing bobber, which we attached a magnet to. Then we made fish out of fun foam and put a magnet on each one. Made sure I had enough poles so we could have 1/2 the kids doing this at one time.

I think that was about it, he was only 2 at the time so we didn't want to have too much going on, it was a pool party too.

Have fun planning. I better start thinking about this year's birthday, only have 3 more months to go!

Hello,

I just did a party for my son few months ago on the theme of Nemo. Due to living in Mexico and not being able to get supplies from the U.S., i did alot of crafty and creative ideas. Here is a list of them.

Inventations - i cutted out pieces of card board into a rectangle and cutted out a smaller rectangle right in the middle of that piece (just like a potrait). then i got different color sheets of paper and made a scenery of underneath the ocean inside the rectangle (potrait) with the backround blue, little green seaweed groing from the bottom, i even stuck real tiny little shells and sand on the bottom.Then i printed out the cuttest pictures of my son to the size of where he would be actually inside the scenery (potrait). Then i purchase little stickers of Nemo and his friends and cutted them out and pasted it also inside the scenery. So it look like my son was in Nemo land with his fish friends wich everybody adored.

Note: you can also include a ziplock bag with water and sand that will go right on top of the scenery which makes it even more realistic.

Backround of cake table - just like i did with the inventations you can also do in the backround of the cake table except that i did not put my sons picture nor the cardboard boarding around it. I got some of the caracters right from the video store off of a movie poster.

decoration around the party room - i hanged different types of colors of blue streamers all around the room to create a under the sea feel and hanged up some plastic fishes around also.

Note: you can also hang up some fish nets along with shells also.

Strings - i bet the kids LOVED icing their own biscuits (cookies... lol).. my little sister once had a "pizza party" where we let the kids top their own kids size pizzas before they were cooked (stops them whinging about the toppings too) and her old friends still talk about it to me! lol...

prplcrzy - i like your "pin the tail on" game... it's sweet to use Nemo's "lucky fin"!

we went a little OTT with our Nemo Party - to be honest I couldn't face the thought of 15 2 yo in my lounge - so we held it in the garage it's in December so we couldn't be sure of the weather -we painted the garage bright blue and i mean bright blue - we stapled streamers to the ceiling in various shades of blue and green, to look like seaweed - we set the tables and chairs under the seaweed and tied helium dolphin balloons to the back of some of the chairs - we also had a bubble machine going and the garage doors open so it looked as if the dolphins we actually swimming in the sea - we also hauled an old TV down there and hooked up a dvd with one of those aquarium dvd things.

One of the games we played - although you need to be very quick at clearing the pieces up was inserting small presents inside balloons before blowing them up - i.e. stickers, whistles then we bought them out and got the kids to try and jump/sit bounce on the balloons to break them - then they got to keep whatever was inside. Also on the table we put paper over it and gave out crayons so that the kids could try draw a picture of nemo at their place - this can then be cut and taken home to stick on their fridge

My son who just turned four still talks about his nemo party even more than the fire truck one he had this last december - and yes we did paint the garage bright red this time - was getting a little tired of the blue

I used the "Finding Nemo" invitations, and, inside the invitations, along w/ all the party "specifics", I including the following note:

In addition to the "Finding Nemo" plates, napkins, & cups, I found a lot of cute things at Oriental Trading Company.

For decor - We hung blue streamers & blue balloons from the playroom ceiling. I ordered about 2 dozen plastic, blow-up fish from Oriental Trading Company & hung those from the ceiling as well along w/ some stuffed seahorses, stingrays, turtles, & fish.

The party was in July, so all the games were planned for outside. On the door going outside, I hung a fish-streamer thing-y that I also found at Oriental Trading Company.

The table for the party kids was decorated w/ a Finding Nemo tablecloth w/ a balloon centerpiece & confetti scattered on the table.

The food table had a blue tablecloth w/ some plastic Finding Nemo toys scattered around the food platters.

My menu was as follows:

Feeding Frenzy Menu

* Tuna Fishwiches & Fishsticks

For the tuna salad sandwiches, I used a fish cookie cutter & cut the bread into fish shapes. Fishsticks were just the frozen fishsticks that you pop in the oven bake.

* Seaweed Slaw & Sea Salt Chips

Seaweed Slaw was a cabbage slaw made w/ vinegar instead of mayonnaise. (I had lots of adults attending this party too, so the slaw was mainly for them.) I served it in a plastic beach bucket w/ a plastic shovel for the serving utensil. The Sea Salt Chips were the sea-salted potato chips that you can find in your grocery store w/ the specialty chips. I served these in a plastic beach bucket as well.

* Coral Reef Fruit & Veggies (just assorted fruits & veggies w/ dip)

* Sydney Bay Cheese & Crackers (just Cheese cubes & goldfish crackers)

* Wallaby Way Aquarium Tanks

I bought gummy fish & immersed them in individual cups of blue jello.

* “Catch of the Day” Cookies

I made sugar cookies in the shapes of fish, turtles, sharks, dolphins, etc. To serve them, I put a fishing net on the table & just laid the cookies in the net.

* Nemo Cake & Ice Cream (Nemo b-day cake w/ ice cream, of course!)

* Ocean Tidal Punch

I made a blue punch w/ lemonade, gingerale, & blue kool-aid & served it from a glass fish bowl.

The activities were as follows:

As the kids arrived, they were taken downstairs to our playroom. On the floor of the playroom, I had spread a blue tablecloth. I bought bags from Oriental Trading Company that had fish on them. So, when the kids arrived, they sat on the tablecloth & colored their bags. The bags were then their "loot bags", and, throughout the party, as they received prizes, they put their "loot" in their fish bags.

After they colored their bags, they got to pick a couple of fish tattoos (also from Oriental Trading Company), and my sister & I put tattoos on their hands & cheeks. We also gave them a couple of fish tattoos for their bags.

* Pictures with Bruce the Great White Shark

My DH cut a shark shape (w/ the shark's mouth wide open) out of cardboard & then painted it gray. I gave the kids sunglasses (from Oriental Trading Company) & then took pics of each kid w/ my son in the "mouth" of the shark. (I included copies of the pics w/ his "thank you's" later.)

* Marlin & Dory’s Jellyfish Jump

I made several circles out of pink streamers. The kids had to jump from circle to circle w/o touching the streamers (like Marlin & Dory in the movie). When they had jumped from each circle, they got a fish lollipop (from Oriental Trading Company).

* Crush’s East Australian Current Slide

We bought one of those yellow water slides, and just let the kids play for a while. After they were through, they received little fish notebooks & pencils(from Oriental Trading Company).

* Dive Dig for Nemo the Clownfish

We hid small, plastic squirt toys in the shape of clownfish in the sandbox, and all the kids were given a plastic shovel to dig & find Nemo. I had hidden enough for each child to find 1. (When they found a fish, they got to keep the fish & the shovel.)

* Fish Feeding

I bought a beanbag game from Oriental Trading Company that was a board w/ 6 holes & the holes were fish mouths. The kids got to take turns throwing the bean bags into the mouths. Each kid received a sheet of Nemo stickers after this activity.

* Treasure Fishing

We made fishing poles for the kids and hung a sheet between the posts of our deck. The kids "cast" their poles over the sheet & DH clipped water bottles in the shape of puffer fish on their poles. The kids got to keep the bottles & they used them to drink the Ocean Tidal Punch when we ate.

For our pinata, I bought one in the shape of a shark, and the kids took turns hitting it. Inside, I had put gummy fish & worms (in individual bags) for the kids.

Our "order of events" was -

When the kids left, they received a live goldfish in a plastic bag w/ a "thank you for coming to our party" note attached.

I gave my DH a Nemo party as a kind of joke 2 years ago.

I made cupcakes and Iced them with blue icing. Then I took the Orange Swedish Fish (the larger ones) and put them on the cup cakes. I used teh decoraters gel icing in black and white to add the stripes and eyes. They turned out pretty cute. I think I got nemo plates and napkins at WalMart. I think cupcakes work better for toddler b-day parties because each kid gets thier own individual cake. No fighting over who gets what design.

Another cute idea is to buy little glass fish bowls (can find at $1 stores) and fill with blue jello. You can put swedish fish in to make it look like an aquarium. Then you will have a fun snack for the party. you can then clean the bowls out and fill with small trinkets, swedish fish, or other candies as a party favor for the kids to take home.

PLEASE do not give live fish to party guests!!!! It is not fair to the fish or the parents. You are giving a living thing that needs care and should be decided by the parents. My daughter was given a fish and we had it for 3 years. 3 years of feeding, cleaning everyweek, and expensive,had to by a bigger bowl,bother finding someone to feed it if we were away,etc. Do you know how many of those fish will be dead within days from being sloshed around, being cared for by someone who doesn't know how and wasn't prepared,doesn't have food.

I can't believe this idea is still alive and well now a days because chances are those fish won't be!
