Leave it to my daughter. She said her dorm was more like a cell, so her and her room mate and her daddy went about to fix that.
Both beds are up on lofts now. They have room for all the stuff they are bringing to the room now.
She's making it hers. I should not have worried.

Great idea! The classrooms at Ds's school have reading lofts.
A wonderful way to make more room and snazzy too!

Sure. My boyfriend built lofts for me and my roommate at Purdue. It made tons more room for our couch, fridge, and tv/stereo. Lots of people had them.

Ok, I don't feel so much like my daughter is spoiled. :D

We built lofts in our dorm rooms when I was in college. It gave us great space. Now, I'm not going to admit how many years ago that was.:teeth:

Lofts are pretty common in dorm rooms. Has anyone seen the new Dell computer where the kid throws a towel up on his loft and the entire thing collapses on his computer. Then the kids are doing slip and slide in the hallway. That commercial cracks me up.

I had one, too. Left lots more room for other things...why waste all that space for just air? Space is valuable in a dorm!!

Laurie, we just moved Matt into his new room (in the frat house) and they all have lofts. It gave he and his roommate enough room for a couch, and a coffee table.

I'm just keeping my fingers crossed he gets any studying done this year.

Good luck to Bri. I know she'll be fine! And so will mom!

That's what we all did, too. Otherwise, there's no way you can function.

=)
