Anybody have a brazillian keratin treatment?

Has anyone had a brazillian keratin treatment? What have your results been and how long has it lasted? Do you have to blow your hair out every day, or can you wash and go? And if you wash and go do you put any additional products in your hair? Thanks!

I haven't had it done, but a friend of mine has. She had curly, curly ringlets that liked to frizz before. Now she's got silky straight hair - very pretty! She said she just washes it and runs a brush through it. The treatment lasts her about 3 months, give or take, I think.

I have done it many times and LOVE the results. I have very thick and curly hair and without the keratin treatment, it takes me hours to blow dry it and flat iron it. With the Keratin, it dries quicker and then I usually quickly go over it once with the flat iron. The only downside (other than the expense) is that when they first apply it, you cannot wash your hair or put it up in any way for 3-4 days while it cures. The results are worth it but man it's hard to not wash it for that long!!

My mom gets it done a few times a year. After she does it her hair is very soft and managable. Humidity is a non-issue for her hair after the treatment. People say there is a cancer-element to the treatment but others say that *everything* causes cancer and not to worry. Do the research yourself and decide.
