Anybody Happy today? Why?

Recently there was a thread about "what was good about today" but I couldn't find it. Seems like there are some really depressing stories around the dis lately. Not to dismiss anyones gripes as not being legitimate & I'm definitely guilty of whining with the best of them but I just needed to step back and remember what's good about my life today.

So, I'm happy today because my young adult son worked the late shift last night and returned home, and all my kids and my dh woke up this morning healthy.

I'm happy today!

Why? Not sure. It's just been a good day. Went to Church, had pasta for lunch, doing some geneaology research, and eating a bowl of delicious oatmeal chocolate chip ice cream!

I love threads like this. It makes you realize you have stuff to be happy about and thankful for and lets you focus on the positive!

What a great idea for a thread! I have a million and one reasons to be annoyed today, but I'm happy today because it's the middle of Hanukkah, which is one of my favorite holidays

I'm sort of sick in bed today...but it's been a great relaxing day. Chatting on the dis and surfing the net, listening to DD practice her flute, watching "Aftermath" shows on National Geographic channel (I'm a sucker for apocalypse shows), a call from DH in Afghanistan, and my beautiful Christmas tree alll lit up. It's been a very nice day.

I am happy because:
I got my christmas cards to the post office last night,
every one in my family is home and safe
and on the way home from church I picked up fahitas (no cooking),
even the outside kitty came in to the nice warm house

I am happy because I found out yesterday that my dear cousin who lost her first baby at 6 months pregnant is pregnant again after trying for 9 months for another baby. Only a handful of people know, but so far so good, she'll get extra testing and monitoring this time around.

I'm also happy because we're leaving tomorrow at 6am bound for Orlando and Disney World. We've been counting down since March and it's finally here. My DD3 is going to be so happy and excited once we get there, it makes me cry just to think about how happy she'll be.

I am happy today because earned another amazing yearly review at work on Friday (joyeous carryover)

I am happy today because I have the next 12 days off from work, burning my last vacation days before years end.

I am happy today because I am blasting Metal and playing Epic Mickey.

I have my wonderful DH sitting near me. I have my health. We can pay all of our bills and are not in debt.

Christmas is getting near. Our decorations are up, our cards are out, our presents are bought and wrapped and the CC is paid off.

Even when I'm cranky, I'm usually still happy. Sounds like an oxymoron I guess, but I feel so blessed that even when something isn't going right, 10 other things are.

• My family is amazing.
• I have a closeknit group of friends who love me for ME
• The snow on the ground is beautiful and even though I was stuck inside for two days, nothing bad happened.
• I got a haircut yesterday that I really like.
• My cat is running around the room like a crazy thing, making me smile.
• Even though work drives me crazy, I have a good job. And our health insurance premiums are going down next year!
• Even better, I'm on vacation in a week.
• Even though my team lost, I love that I have a football team to cheer for.
• I'm eating chex mix for dinner just because I want to.

The new issue of Glamour (the one with Reese Witherspoon on the cover) has a whole section about being happy. I haven't read it yet, but thought others might be interested in knowing that

I didn't know you had a hubby in Afghanistan. Okay, that sounds weird. LOL. Is he military? Whatever he's doing, tell him thank you and to stay safe!!! And big hugs to you

Today was a great day because it was the first day in awhile where I did absolutely nothing.

I am happy today because mom and I had a great time at the theatre yesterday and I came home to a movie that DF picked up and we watched this morning

Still not out of my jammies today that makes me happy too

i am happy today because i wanted chili for lunch, and my dear MIL had made us chili! she cooks for us every sunday (she and FIL live next door), and i'm SO grateful she made chili today, because it's SO COLD!

I am happy today because DH and I got to spend the night alone last night, while both kids slept over with friends.

I'm happy we are all healthy and have a warm, nice house to live in.

I'm happy my DH has a good job so we don't have to choose between paying our bills or buying Christmas gifts for our children.

I'm happy it's winter and that means snow!

I'm happy our Christmas tree is coming home tonight.

I'm happy St. Nick comes tonight and my kids will wake up with smiles on their faces in the morning.

I'm happy I didn't have anywhere to be today, so I could spend it at home with my family, watching the Packers win.
