Anybody going south for Black Friday?

I am going across the border to North Dakota for Black Friday. Is anybody else from here going?
This is my second Black Friday. Let's hear your plans and your stories!

Not me.... No deal is good enough to have me shopping in a crowd!!
I should have my shopping done by then anyway - I took dh with me and managed to get 85% of our shopping done in 4 hrs while ds' was at a birthday party!!

I'm going! I'm a teacher so I can normally never go shopping on Black Friday, but this year I'm on maternity leave. I'm so excited!

There are 3 of us going from SW Ontario. We have a game at 9:20 p.m. on Thursday night and then we are leaving right away for Birch Run in MIchigan - they open at 12:00 am

Can't wait - I just want to see all the people and see how good the deals really are.

We will be in Michigan the night of Black Friday so I am hitting up the Wally World near where we will be to get in on the next addition of the Toshiba HD A2 HD DVD player it was on last weekend for 98 dollars and rumour has it for BF it is supposed to go down to 59.98. Even if it is still at 98 I am picking up a couple as x mas gifts. You can't beat an HD DVD player for that price plus you get the 5 mail in rebate movies from Toshiba so calculate those at about 20 bucks each minimum and you get the player for free.

We are so there

Third trip in a row for us now and we have 14 of us going this year. We leave Thursday, settle into our hotel, hit the casino for more shopping money , then back to the hotel with all the local flyers and figure out our game plan. Set alarm for 3:30 and let the shopping begin.

Black Friday sales are only for that one day. Most of the stores have doorcrashers and they open early. Eg. Kohls & Macys are opening at 4 a.m.!!!!
Some of the stores have sales that last for a couple of days such as Target but the big deals are that one morning.
It's a blast. Went last year but not for the early morning. Drove up from Winnipeg to Grand Forks and got to Target at 9:00 a.m. My girlfriend and I still got a lot of stuff on sale the stores and had a ton of fun.
Mark it on your calender for next year...LOL I am.

We are going to Grand Forks from Winnipeg for the first time for Black Friday. Any advice? Where do you get the flyers for the stores in Grand Forks. We are going down on the Thursday afternoon till Saturday.

Right now you can see ad scans online. Just google Black Friday 2007 and you will find some sites. This thread has had a lot of good info in it too.
Check the ad scans and make your list.
Once you get there on Thursday get yourself a paper. The flyers are supposed to be in the paper that day. Sears has a coupon for $10 off. Plus some of the stores price match (WM).

We are leaving for Saginaw at 4 P.M. on Thursday. We will do the sores in saginaw at 5A.M and then head on down to Birch Run Outlet Mall at 10. We did the Birch Run Midnight Sales last year and I vowed never again. Way to many people and no matter where you went there was always a 30 to 45 minute wait at all checkouts

I have a co-worker who is going Friday afternoon for the weekend! I can only imagine what the border will be like by 4pm on BF~
