Anybody ever rent a full size crib for WDW?

Hi Everyone! I've been reading these boards for awhile now and since this is our first trip I'm really trying to plan well. From what I've been reading, the pack 'n play cribs at the resorts sound somewhat flimsy, small, with poorly fitting sheets. My youngest dd will be 15 months old when we go and I was thinking of renting a full size crib for our stay at WDW from "a baby's best friend". Has anyone used this company, or one like it, to rent a crib? Is it worth the extra cost? It's $77.00 for 7 nights and I need to call to see how much for the 1 additional night I need,it's free delivery/pick-up to my resort with all the linens included. I just think dd would be more comfortable in a full size crib, and may sleep better since this is what she uses at home. I don't think she will sleep in a pack n play. Also, we plan to come back to resort every day for a nap so both dd's can take a nap. Any experiences, opinions?
Thanks in advance!

DD stayed in a port a crib and the resorts when she was 11 months, 19 months, and 2.5 years. I brought my own port a crib sheets from home. No problems with that.

Could you tell me how much the port a cribs from the resorts cost? We will be there for 13 nights. My dgrdd will be 20 months old.

All resorts are equipped w/ pack and plays. We have rented from Children's Furniture rental (I would not reccommend it). A Baby's Best Friend gets good reviews. I think we will ry them next time.

We rented a full size crib from A Baby's Best Friend this past November. We also rented toys from them. Everything was clean and the service was good.

I do think it would be worth it, if your baby is used to sleeping in it at home. For us, baby slept with me in the bed most nights, instead of the crib. But he did use it for naps and it was just nice to have a safe place to plop him while we were all busy getting ready.

Thanks everyone! Sharibrat -I'm glad to hear you had a good experience with them! If we do decide to rent, I will go with abbf, as children's furniture rental was the other one I was thinking about, and the other poster said she had a bad experience with them. It's too bad WDW doesn't have full size cribs, being such a family vacation place :confused3
If anyone else has anything to add that could help me in my decision,I would greatly appreciate the input. We're trying to make our first vacation as a family and our first time to WDW a magical time and I just want all my bases covered. :)

Not sure about Pop Century but we are staying at Saratoga Springs and they have full size cribs there. The guy that we are renting points from called this week and has one reserved for me. I found pictures here on the disboards about them. Check and see if Pop has them too.

I don't know that they have these at all of the hotels, but there are only a limited number and they may be requested but not guarenteed.

Hmmm....good to know. I think I'll post on the resorts board and see if anyone knows if they have these at Pop. I know it's only a request but if it's a possibility I might just do that!

I have read that the cribs are a little small from wdw, I saw a photo of the ones that they have at the poly. I am planning to rent from abbf based on all the good reviews on the dis.Have a good trip:goodvibes

Just a word of caution about the resort's "full size" term regarding cribs. Our experience was the metal infirmary-style cribs like you see in hospitals. They are about 1/2 the size of a real home crib, and the 'mattress' leaves a lot to be desired, being about 1" thick foam. . . and it colapses and folds. Not real thrilled about that.

We did this on our first WDW visit, and after a terrible experience (I called it a glorified pack-n-play). We have rented from A Baby's Best Friend every time since. They have real cribs like at home, and real 6" mattresses, and the bedding is always great. It is by far the best money we spend on our trip, because you know they saying, if baby is not happy, no one is. And a great nights' sleep is priceless.

Here is link to a very similar crib like we had from the resort (except ours was silver color): http://www.hotelfun4kids.com/images/hotelproducts/bedding/graco4020.jpg

Here is ABBF's crib link: http://www.abbf.com/equipment.php?item=fullcrib

Hope this helps. :goodvibes

the PNP's are the Graco variety and worked fine for us for both DD's.. (different times of course)...one time at the Poly though they had the wooden smaller scale crib...that worked fine as well. Unless your baby is finicky about where they sleep I am not sure I would spend the extra $$ to rent.

To all the folks who have babies that can sleep all night in a pack-n-play or thin mattress crib, you should be very happy! We were never that lucky with any of ours, and Grumpy24's advice is right on. We, like so many others, have been very pleased with ABBF in not only the cribs they have but all the other things we have received from them.

My thoughts on this are very simple; We save and save to enjoy ourselves on a well-deserved vacation, I'm not cutting costs on one of the big things that could adversely affect it for the whole family: A great nights' sleep!

We've used them the last 2 years. We rented 3 for our girls. They deliver to
hotel and they were EASY to put together. They were comfortable. If they're happy we are happy. Everyone slept.

Thank-you veteran DIS mommies for all your replies!! Many of you brought up a good point that a good night's sleep for all is well worth the extra money spent. Since you have all been so helpful, I think I'm going to go ahead and rent the full size crib from abbf. I think dd will sleep better and be more comfortable which is good for all of us. Plus, I'm saving a great deal of money with free dining so to budget this in shouldn't be a problem! Thanks again!!! :thumbsup2

Just wanted to say that we too have had wonderful experiences with a baby's best friend. We rented cribs twice. The first trip was when DD was 7 months old, we not only rented the crib but also an exersaucer, a small travel swing, and a baby monitor (we were in a 1 bedroom at OKW and wanted to be able to hear the baby if we were not in the bedroom). The second trip we got a crib and also some toys for her to play with. On our last trip, she was 2 1/2 and just slept in our bed with us so I didn't need to rent anything but I kind of missed it!

Could not agree more! I save and plan so much for this trip I would hate to mess it up with a baby who can't sleep. I feel it is worth the money. My Ds is big now at 6 months I can only imagine how big he will be at 1 year! I read on another thread about a babys arms and legs hanging over in the cribs at wdw.Glad to hear more positive thoughts on Abbf!

We just rented from ABBF over Easter week. I would definitely recommend ABBF to anyone who is looking for a full sized crib.

Just be forwarned that the box the crib comes in is very big and heavy, so Bell services will need to bring it to your room and pick it up. We changed resorts after the first night, which was kind of a pain with this big box, however it would have been worse had my son not slept well the whole week. It was shipped from the Coronado Springs to the BCV that day, which was easy however I would not recommend chaning resorts and renting a crib if you absolutely don't have to - or just have the crib go to where you're staying for the longer stay.

My son is big and doesn't fit well in a Pack n play. I also wasn't sure how many cribs the hotels had however I did see a few in the hallway at the BCV which were the metal kind described in previous posts. They seemed ok though, but I liked having all of the bedding, bumpers, etc.

Can anyone tell me the best placement for a full size crib @ POFQ. Do you have to 'rearrange' the room?
