Anybody Ever Fly into Ontario?

I just saved a bundle by flying into Ontario and booked it.

Return trip is out of LAX so no worries there.

Just worried about transportation from the airport to DL. Town car? Taxi?

Tried researching but not having much luck.

I just saved a bundle by flying into Ontario and booked it.

I had to make a last minute booking (two days notice) to Disneyland in July 2019, and flying to Ontario was by far the cheapest option. SuperShuttle was still around back then, so that is what we used. It appears the current incarnation of SuperShuttle doesn't yet service the Ontario airport, so that isn't an option for you.

I don't own a cell phone so don't do Uber, etc., but I saved enough on airfare that I was willing to pay for a taxi, if necessary. I just checked an Anaheim taxi fare estimator, and it gives a fare of $110 from the airport to Disneyland, so while not good, it is not horrible either (I saved more than that on each of the three plane fares I booked).

Sorry I can't be of more help.

I'm familiar with ONT, but not to go to DL. I have family in the area and it's the nearest airport but I've either had someone pick me up or I've rented a car.

The one time I priced using ONT for DL the transportation choices were pretty limited and about twice as expensive as other local airports and this was pre-Covid.

IIRC Uber no longer services ONT so it'd either be Lyft or a taxi for that type of ride and I have no idea what that would be these days. Or a private car service which, at the time, was around $100 + each way. I don't think there are any 'van shuttle'-type services from ONT to DL.

I have flown into Ontatio maybe half a dozen times, but always rented a car. Renting a car is a bit more of a hassle, especially at airports like this where the rental spots are far from the gates, but I have found it to be cheaper and give me ore flexibility. I am a nut, I will be at a conference all day in Ontario and then drive over to Dl in rush hour traffic for a few hours a night at the parks. Those days might be gone (who am I kidding-limited) without the return of some sort of AP.

I've flown out of ONT but not in. Pre-pandemic, 2019. We took Lyft, and it was around $55 about 7:30 am and may be 35-40 minutes. It's actually my 2nd favorite airport after LGB now as Southwest usually has cheaper flights in/out, and it's easy to navigate. For what it's worth, traffic flows Ontario towards Anaheim for the morning commute, and Anaheim to Ontario for the afternoon commute, which may affect ride share (Lyft) prices.

We just flew into ONT last wednesday 7/7 - we had to wait a bit for a Lyft XL, but only 15 minutes or so. The ouch was the cost - $116 to Paradise Pier plus tip (we flew out of Burbank and that was another $120 FWIW). Still, it was worth it compared to spending an extra $400 per person more to fly via SNA.

I wonder if you could do a same day rental car? Pickup @ ONT and then drop off at a location closer to the parks cheaper that those prices.

I've priced those and one way rentals have horrendous fees. IIRC the cheapest was Avis with no fees. This was a few years ago and it was for a rental from ONT to a nearby town, approx 15 miles. Crazy, considering that it would have taken literally 20 minutes for an employee to ferry the car back to ONT.

The kicker now is that car rental prices are absolutely through the roof. Add on 'one way fees' and it'd probably be easier to buy a car!

Edit:
on Kayak
24 hour rental (same rent/return) around $100.00
24 hour rental (one way) $133.00

That's actually not too bad if those prices are in effect for your dates and the Uber/car service prices are as people say.

Pulled the trigger on a private van from a limo service.
In case anyone else needs the info it is personal pick up at Ontario to Harbor Boulevard. $141 before taxes and tip. Figured I saved enough on flights to more than cover and don’t have to fret the hassle/unknown of traffic or pricing.
Thanks again for all the info and help.
