I know I should be more patient but let's move into December already!!!!

I'm having the same problem. I'm waiting for late November/early December. I've been getting about three dings a day, but nothing I can use.

Thats how they have been running all summer Around the first of the month they open that entire month. Then the next week the open 1/2 way into the next and keep it there until the following month.

Every once in a while when they open new dates they will have a select open for the entire period but thats it.

I have great rates for OCT and now am waiting to get my $79 fares reduced as well.

So, January DINGS! are going to be available until sometime in mid to late December? This is so frustrating. If there are no more sales, we will be driving. I am not spending ~$1500.00 to fly.

They still will have Sales going behond what the Dings are so keep an eye out for them.

We base our trips off weather we can get cheap fares ( under $250 each for the 3 of us). Now our main Summer vacation we will go no matter what I have driven it a few time to play Paintball with 10 others in a 15 passenger van .NO WAY will I ever drive again.

Air Prices just decide on how many times we go during the year.

If I have an idea of a trip or one planned I always book first day as soon as dates are released for the flight time I most desire ( always one-ways as well). This way if a sale comes up thats just a bonus.

We are flying December 26 and January 8. I am not hopeful for a ding for the 26th, but I will be watching. I do hope we get one for the 8th though.

I'm waiting for late Nov/early Dec DINGS, I'm SO tired of seeing these 11/20 dates!!

What you all seem to not realize is SWA puts these Dings out for flights they need to fill. They have an excellent system of knowing what needs to be filled and when.
If it does not suit you at any particular time, well, so be it. BUT, they may suit your needs at another time.
The primary function is to fill flights, not to give you a warm fuzzy. SWA is a business, not a fun factory. Sorry to be harsh, but, gosh, you all waiting for this to fulfill some personal need is sort of out side the grid.
I personally hope you all get what you neeed, truly I do. But, often you are better off waiting for the Tuesday fare sale.

Of course we realize that. We're just looking for a good rate--pure and simple.

The thing I love about SW is that I could book a pricier flight right now and once my ding comes in, I can cancel the more expensive flight and use those funds to buy my cheaper tickets. And if goforbid there is no ding and I can get a cheaper flight on another airline, I can still use my southwest credit on a later SW flight where other airlines charge rebooking fees.
I am waiting for December dings too!!!

I think everyone realizes that but from my past experience with SW the current DINGS are coming out later than usual recently, at least compared to what I've seen in the past, and that's where the impatience is coming from.

I already have my flights booked, just waiting for a drop in price so I can change our dates slightly.

Pure and simple, I totally understand. I have been very lucky with dings in the past, however, I have been very lucky more often with their system wide sales, in fact, sometimes the Ding fares have been higher than the System wide ones.

Yes, they are coming out later than usual and the entire format has changed over time. IE: Only on flight xyz and only on xyz day.
I think the reason you are seeing a delay right now is the fares you all are waiting for are in late Nov. and Dec. That is holiday time. Check the dates you want to go on the reservation page and see how full the flights are, that will give you an idea (not set in concrete) about your Dings. If the flights you want are pretty much booked, don't hold on for a Ding.

I'm fortunate that the dates I need to switch to are still pretty much wide open since I'm not traveling until the middle of the week following Thanksgiving. I check the flights at least once each day and if I see them start filling up I'm definitely prepared to book without a DING fare if I can at least get a sale fare (either that or give up the idea of adding the 3-day Wonder to our WDW plans).

My flights are pretty much open...but why not keep hoping for a DING! to lower what I've booked?? Pixie dust to all us dreamers!!! pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Hi,
We will be flying November 19th and returning on the 27th.When I booked the 19th alot of the flights were already full.I booked for 101.pp. Now I have noticed alot of the dates have opened up.Our return flight I could not get a Sunday flight so I chose Monday as happened last year as well.We paid 192/pp.for a total of 293.00/pp. I hope to get at least a ding for the 19th as I did last year for 49.00.They did not offer any on the 27th as those flights were full.I believe they came out the first week of November last year if I am not mistaken.Good Luck to us all for great dings!!! :wizard:

So according to this I need December 6th, you are thinking it will be out later next week? And I fly back on the 15th, would that be right away or waiting until later in the month? Both of those dates are wide open I can still get 8 tickets (don't need 8 seats just showing availability) on all the flights for the so called cheaper seats.

Do you think I will have to wait for the 15th? :confused3

TIA

Still waiting for a December sale on SW... :confused3 Never have I had to wait so long!!!

So far our dates are all available, but the cheapest rate is $170 one way and I do not want to pay that much!!! :rolleyes1

It has to happen soon!!!!!! We need 12-13 and 12-18.... :thumbsup2
