anybody else read the comic "For Better Or For Worse"

I was just going to mention that. April is almost exactly one year older than DD#1 and I was personally on pins and needles every day while she was in the river. Then Farley rescued her and I was so relieved...and then he died! I was a mess.
The Paul thing is moving so quickly, you would think Elizabeth would be freaked out that things are moving so fast. And no way should she go back to Anthony. As for Becky, I'm sure eventually she will be put in her place, but I do like the fact that former delinquent Jeremy Jones (remember when he got hit by a car when chasing April on his bike?) is her roadie and seems to have a purpose in life.

Love this strip, have for years. I remember the first strip that appeared in Newsday with Michael jumping on the recliner bottom while John was snoozing on it, lol.

You know it's bad when all I have to type into my browser is "F" and it automatically populates with www.fbofw.com/stripfix ! With my crazy work hours lately, I've been known to be ready for bed at 2:50 my time, and I wait the extra 10 minutes to get the next day's installment.

I love this comic strip, Elizabeth is my favorite. Where did you read that it was going to end? I hope that doesn't happen. I still miss Calvin and Hobbes and also the Far Side.

I didn't know that there were newsletters, I am going to have fun reading them.

Yes, there are newsletters each month written by the characters. They often give a little more detail as to what's going on with a certain storyline. Here's a link to December's newsletters. It starts with Elly and then you can select each characters name at the top to read what they say. There are archived letters there and a lot of background for the entire comic strip.

As for the strip ending, I read an article about Lynn Johnston sometime last year and she said in it she planned to end the strip in 2007. btw...I still miss Calvin and Hobbes, too. I loved it!

I'll really miss this strip if she does stop writing it. They are all like members of the family, I've watched them grow up, shared the good times and bad. I love that she explores emotional issues and shows the characters working through them realistically.

BTW, the Boston Globe is rerunning Clvin and Hobbes every day, I haven't found it on Boston.com though, sorry!

i too am a big fan of the website (love the monthly letters from the characters). for the person who asked about the stalker and mike's neighbors: elizabeth pursued the police charges and learned she was not the only woman he had attacked (more came forward) he was convicted (though it was never disclosed what kind of punishment he received). mike's neighbors recognized themselves in the strip and confronted him, but there was not enuf identifying info. for them to sue, lovey (his landlord) found some plaster broken from their ceiling (from the husband banging on it) that had been hidden from her and unreported to her which gave her grounds to evict them (she wanted to because of the cigar smoking but never could "catch him in the act").

i adore this strip-it's like it mirrors my life. i have a few of the out of print holiday videos from years past and i hope that the new series that the canadian broadcasting system is running will eventualy be available for purchase.

i love the characters in this, and the way they are drawn back in or mentioned from time to time (so much like my life with seldom seen but often thought of friends). i esp. like weed who has become so much a part of mike and dee's life. i think liz is smart enuf to know that anthony is never going to be an option (his choice in a wife will impact him the remainder of his life).

one of my absolute favorite strips was around the time of baby robin's birth with mike standing up to his mil and kicking her out of the apartment-so needed to be done!!

we became fans when my youngest DD was born and they had the TV specials. My kids are spaced far apart like their kids are and it was really something we related to. I will miss it if she stops writing it. Thanks for posting the website!

Love, love, love this strip, especially Elizabeth. I am rooting for Paul!

Yes, I too love this strip! It is quite unique where it has aged -characters and all-- unlike most other comic strips..........
what is the rumor about 2007 and the strip ending? Oh dear!
I never knew about the monthly letter! I will read up on them from now on!

I love them too. The characters thoughts are so funny and so realistic. I especially love the strips that match my kids age, the pregnancy when i was pregnant, the new baby one, and now the teenage one "If this is a lecture, how long will it take" These are older ones. Guess i have been missing out and will buy some of the newer books for my Birthday.

OK ... HELP! We got rid of our daily newspaper a couple of months ago. Got a paper yesterday and didn't have a clue who Elizabeth was in the car with! The last I remember was Anthony telling her that his marriage was basically over and to "wait for him".

If I go to the links posted above, will I be able to get caught up on the plotlines? Who are Warren and Paul again? I remember the helicopter pilot, but which one is he?

TIA!

MaryLiz,

I hadn't gotten a paper for a while and I went back and caught up sometime last summer. I forget how far back she's archived, but it goes back quite a ways.

She also sells autographed panels of the strips. I sooo wanted to buy one of the ones around the holidays of Ellie and Moira at Lilliputs!

THANKS ! I just got caught up since September! I've now bookmarked the website so I can go there daily! Now I'm torn because I don't know which guy I want Elizabeth to end up with. :confused3

I absolutely adore FBOFW! I have read it since I was a child and there are times I swear that Lynn has a camera in our household. From the bunnies to the sibling rivalry there are way to many similarities. It is the one comic strip I keep up with and LOVE reading their newsletters. I was telling my hubby a couple of days ago I must be nuts because I was cheering when Elizabeth told Paul to pull over so she could kiss him. YEAH!!!!!! I am hoping that his last name lives up to my expectations of Elizabeth finding her Mr. Wright!
