I am so loving this. I don't mind Splenda, I can tolerate Eqaul, and I hate Sweet and Low, but Truvia is awesome! Pricey, but awesome, nonetheless.... hopefully the price will come down as it gets more in circulation.

This is the one from the Stevia plant, right?
I looked for it at my local cheapo markets today and neither had it. Walmart and Winco. Glad to hear you like it. I'll try it.

A friend of mine uses it, he's diabetic & was so happy to find something he loves for a sweetener!

I can't wait until this product becomes for 'local'. I remember having to order Splenda too - back in 2001 when I was do Akins Diet. It will not be long before all of our local markets will sell Truvia too. It will also take the price down a little.

Does it have an aftertaste at all like splenda does?

And is it totally calorie free?

I didn't really have an aftertaste.... and yes, zero calories.... but 50 PACKETS is still $8.99 where I bought it. I hate the price, but being diabetic, it works for me.

I have been using Stevia for 8-9 months. It is sold in various forms: powdered and liquid.

For great lemonade, use 3/4ths cups of squeezed lemon juice, six cups of water and a teaspoon of powdered stevia. Chill and pour over ice.

I like the Sweatleaf brand of liquid stevia. On Ebay there is a seller who sells four bottles for $39.99, with free shipping. At my local healthfood store they sell the same Sweetleaf brand for $13.99 each. The ebay seller lets you select the four flavored stevia's of your choice. I have bought from several Ebay stevia sellers; if you look under their feedback you can find Legalsea (me) and so know I used them.

I use clear liquid stevia to sweeten my homemade yogurt. I use the chocolate flavored to make chocolate milk. I use the lemon or vanilla flavored if I want flavored yogurt.

I always thought that the sugar-free vanilla instant pudding from Jello lacked flavor. However, add some vanilla stevia and it becomes great. Same for the lemon Jello pudding (with lemon stevia).

I even make a quite good fudge pie using clear liquid stevia. My recipe calls for two cups of Spenda (for the bulk, actually) then a couple of squirts of stevia.

The stevia does last a long time, so it is well worth the cost.

I love truvia like this....

3 ounces of part skim ricotta cheese
1 small splash of SF DaVinci flavored syrup
1 packet of truvia

Mix really well, and voila! A great low carb dessert.

I have been using Stevia for a long time. You used to only be able to get it in places like GNC and such. It was also more expensive. I'm so happy to see it finally becoming more mainstream!

I don't use a lot of artificial sweeteners (don't use regular sugar at all) but when I do its either Splenda or Truvia.

I've used stevia for years. I get mine from Whole Foods. They have boxes of 100 packets for much less than what you pay for 50, PD. Does Whole Foods have a Philly location? I get my liquid stevia in tubes at the co-op near me for sweetening things like with honey. It's more expensive. Is 'Truvia' just stevia marketed under a brand name or is it something else?

I started a major weight loss plan in August. I really struggled with my sweet tooth - I used to drink at least 3 Dr. Pepper's a day.

My diet is very low-carb, so I had to find a sugar substitute. I've always disliked Sweet & Low. Equal has an aftertaste to me & I am not too fond of Splenda.

My dietitian recommended that I try stevia. I did & liked it, but found it had somewhat of an aftertaste with some things. Then Truvia came out - HUGE improvement.

Yes, it is pricey. But I find I use fewer packets to sweeten, say, a grapefruit than I would for Splenda. So I think in true cost for me, since I find it more concentrated, is about the same.

I can by it at our local grocery stores - Homeland and Crest. The Neighborhood Walmart by me doesn't have it, but I think the Super Target does.

I LOVE it on fresh fruit!

I think there is one within 10 miles of me.... I do know that one is opening near me soon, though.

truvia is powdered stevia.... I have the liquid stevia and hate it.

I bought a box of 40 packets the other week, but haven't tried it yet. I paid $3.49ish, plus I had a $1 off coupon (at Weis Markets).

Another one to look for is Stevia in the Raw. Our Meijer store carries it now and I bought a box of the packets for DH to try (I believe it was around $4-5 for the box). It is also zero calories and I do not think it has an after taste like Spenda and other no calorie sweetners.
