I keep thinking "This time last week... This time last week..."

Just about this time last week (9:20am) I was almost done and starting to realize I was going to come in WAY ahead of my 2007 Half. Thus...the finish line jig picture!

It all goes by so fast. A year of training and prep and focus and planning. (Why don't my work days go by so fast?? ) As Charlie pointed out to me this morning "Hey, it COULD last twice as long you know." :lmao: But the whole weekend - not just the race - goes by in a blur. There are so many people I didn't even get to meet, so many people I didn't get to spend more than a quick minute with, so many people (Paul!) I just saw run by and I never saw them again.

I WISH it lasted longer. It's SUCH a fabulous weekend. A real highlight in my life. Thank you all for making it some of the best times of my life.

Let the countdown to the Minnie begin!!! :yay:

Yes dear Queen, all of the above. I wanna go back. I miss everyone already and I had so many people I never got to spend time with either.

OK Anne, That will NEVER happen. They are lucky I show up during the week! :rotfl:

Oh Sad Panda.... Stinks, don't it?

Yep. The weekend goes by waaaaay too quickly. October can't get here soon enough.

I've been feeling that way all week. Really bad case of post-race blues.

It did happen too fast. Although part of that is MY fault. We were only there for 46 hours (6:00 pm Friday to 4:00 pm Sunday). Darn work and school.

I try to replay it on the Tivo in my head, but at half speed. It's not the same.

Hey, hey, now! Don't wish my summer away!

I'm looking forward to a big July trip!

And I'm hoping we can pull off the Minnie in a couple months....

Oh, yes! I feel this way, too, although I am glad the run part is over.

We train and train and train for months only to have the weekend go by in a blur. It just doesn't last long enough. For me, it's mainly because I didn't get to spend enough time with new WISH friends and I didn't get to know or meet other WISHers during that time. Do any of you feel the same about other events you participate in? I don't although I do enjoy the race events I've participated in.

This was dh's words to me as I got up - I want to hit Ballys, but I cant find my free pass!!

I may just show up!! I'm dressed and ready to go!!

:sad1:

I keep thinking "This time last week... This time last week..."

That's funny, Judy...I said the same thing to DH this morning.

I can't believe there were people at the Pop meet that I didnt get to meet or see at all! We've grown so much over the years!

I actually think Pop is my favorite part of the weekend. That's when most of us are together in one place, although I did enjoy the afterglow party at Boardwalk Bakery (we may need to find someplace warmer for next year ;) )

Vic? Oct?? You mean you're not coming for Minnie? :confused3

No Susie I don't feel the same about other races we go to. We have something very special here with this bunch of carzy wonderful misfits we call the WISH Team.

Feeling blue here in NJ too. :sad1: It all went by way way too fast. It was the most incredible time. Makes me want to do the Minnie but I just don't think that's going to happen. I've got a serious case of post-marathon blues. :grouphug:

Feeling blue in in NC also......there were so many people I didn't get to meet and others I didn't get to spend much time with. Next year I'm going to come a day later and try to spend an extra day after so I'll have more time once the pressure is off.

Sandy: are you a walker or runner? If you are mostly a walker, you need to check out the walker's thread....it's where all the "back-of-the-pack" people post. I love my faster WISH brothers and sisters, but there is no way I can keep up with them. :worship: :worship: :worship:

October is a for sure.

I'll start dropping the hints, so don't count us out for the Minnie just yet. :rolleyes1 :) I'd like to talk Marilyn into walking the 5K, but she's just not into the walking/running deal.

I did my first run after the "big one" and on the TM today I was thinking how much easier this was last week. :lmao: Who knew??? I laughed at myself saying "well I only ran 3 miles", only 3 miles 2 years ago was a HUGE distance for me!! I feel so good that I did it but so sad that it is over.

I am so glad I did it, so happy to have met the WISHers that I did (and I missed so many too) and that I was blessed with the opportunity to participate in such an amazing experience. Now I cannot wait until Goofy 2010!!!:rolleyes1

Yep, woke up at 7 and thought about how I was running at Disney this time last week! Total post-marathon blues. I know there are other races, and I've done others, but NONE compare. I can't remember having that much fun!:cool1:

I'm with Jackie- I only wish I'd gone to all the meets. It all went by so fast.

Anyone still battling lingering injuries? My IT band still hurts, and I just found a huge lump in my upper calf muscle. I think going on a run might help with my marathon blues, but it's all I can do to walk now... I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever recover.

Woe is me, Jen in GA;)

Toss me in the post-weekend funk pile as well.

I think that is what's so great about reading everyone's race reports. It helps us extend the feelings we had last weekend and slowly weans us back into the regular, post-event lives we lead.

Jen in Ga - I did manage to run a couple of times this week and it did feel good to move but didn't really help with the seperation anxiety. Add to that the fact that I'm planning on running another marathon (maybe the half is looking better and better) in March and my training plan calls for almost 40 miles next week:scared1: and motivation is pretty hard to come by!

Jeanne, duh how do I get to the Walker's Thread? :confused3
