for not having their children at VR?

DH & I are planning a VR for our 10th anniversary next December. I'm starting to have second thoughts about our DD not being there with us. Yes, it was my idea to keep it just the 2 of us, but I'm really starting to re-think her not being there. I think my biggest sticking point is coming home & telling her Mommy & Daddy (by then it'll probably be Mom & Dad sigh ) without her!

Is it possible there is a compromise in there for you? Is there a responsible family member or friend (aunt, cousin, babysitter) who could make the trip and entertain her so that you can do anniversary things without feeling bad about leaving her alone? If not, and you want to truly renew your vows and celebrate your marriage, then don't feel bad about leaving her home. Just plan for something special for her to celebrate with you at home.

Let me add... DH and I would like to do a vow renewal, maybe for our 10th also. Our kids will be included, but mostly because our trips include my parents, and often other family members. DH and I will be able to have quiet, romantic dinners that would not be possible with what will then be 3 kids; 7, 5, and 2.

*shrugs* When I was a kid, my parents went to Disneyland without me and my sister. I was so mad at the time but I got over it. Your daughter will too.
