Anybody else doing a summer internship at Disney?

Hi everybody, I just got accepted for a summer internship in the IT department of Walt Disney Studios. I get to work on the studio lot, and I'm really looking forward to the work. I'm so excited

Is anybody else doing a summer internship? Especially at the Disney Studios or Disneyland?

Also anybody else looking for a place to live and might want to be roommates? Or live in the area and might have a room to rent out to a nice, responsible college student who doesn't drink or stay out late or whatnot?

Well I was wondering if there was going to be a thread created for the PI's for the summer term. I applied for the spring but did not make it. We had a very busy discussion thread through the whole way. It was so helpful for support. I almost passed this one by because the title wasn't very catchy but I am glad I found you. I have been accepted into the DCP and I am very excited about it. However, I was so close to getting the PI I wanted last time that I had to give it a try again. Also, I have alot of work experience and think I would be of better value to Disney and myself in the Management PI program. My interview is in about 10 minutes so I will be back to tell you how everything went. Lets get this discussion fired up. What did you apply for and how far have you gotten in the interview process. Okay, so I guess my luck is starting out bad. I did receive my call at 2:40 but it was someone else calling to reschedule my interview. The person who was suppose to call was stuck in an ice-storm in Ohio and the phones are down. The next available interview wasn't until Wednesday. I guess I will have to wait a little longer. Anyway, that just means the second interview should come sooner due to the fact that they are going to be finishing up the whole process soon. Last session, I applied in May, had my first interview in September, my second interview wasn't until November, and I didn't hear a response until the around the first or second week of December. TALK ABOUT WAITING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think after that I can handle whatever they dish out. Well talk to ya soon.

My job description is:

POSITION SUMMARY
The Studio IT Associate will work on a project basis. The work will depend on what the department is focusing on in the summer. An example of a project will be an information portal project in which the Associate may work on the functionality of the digital cinema portal. The Studio IT team is focused on online business process solutions in relation to our movie productions.

After talking to the group during my interview, it sounds like I'll be working on some of the business to business pages of the studio. I'm really excited

I think I saw the one you applied for on the disneycareers.com site. Is it the one which starts this summer and goes into the fall? Good luck with your next interview!

What's up girl? How is the internship going? Good to hear from you. I'm trying to get the others fired up like we were for the Spring session. Anyway, I decided to take the "WIN-WIN" approach this time. I applied and already have been accepted for the College Program but, I also applied for the Management PI (retail, resorts, food and beverage). I will be happy either way but I think that the PI is just going to be more beneficial if I get it. I also switched it up a bit to increase my odds. Last time I only went for Retail. This time I added a few that I have better experience at. Well hope to hear from you soon.

Hey hey!! Im glad to see you on here again!! I haven't been on here much since the internship started, but it's going great!! I love it there! Congrats on already getting accepted for the CP--but I'm sure you will get accepted for the PI!! Good Luck with it! Let me know what happens and when you get to Orlando

Yes it was the one that starts in June and Ends in Dec/Jan. I wonder how many positions they have open for these types of internships

Okay, I have a question. I'm definately not complaining or anything but just wondering how this happened. I previously wrote that my initial interview was cancelled and rescheduled for Wednesday of this week right? Well yesterday I received a phone call from one of the positions I selected and I interview with them on Friday. I thought the purpose of the initial interview was to determine if they forward your information to the areas that you applied for and then each individual area would contact you if they are interested? Do you think that they just forwarded my information anyway? I guess I have my initial interview tomorrow and my retail management interview on Friday. Wish me luck.

Where is everyone at? It is just hard for me to believe that there isn't anymore PI hopefuls out there. I have interviewed for Food and Beverage Management and Retail Management. I am just waiting. Has anyone heard from a PI Management position yet? I know that last term they only replied about a week and a half before the deadline date. If that is true for this time also, I probably won't hear back until the beginning of May. Talk to you soon.

what's the intern app. process?
and whaich depratment(s) do you recommend trying to get in?
