Anybody don't like alcohol?

DH and I went to my high school reunion this evening. I was very surprised that every time I turned around someone was either drinking a beer or another type of alcoholic drink. I had sweet tea the whole night.
While I don't mind people drinking, I was just surprised at the number of folks drinking from the time they walked in the door to the time they left.
The last drink I had was in September at a wedding, before that...it was New Year's Eve. I just don't believe in drinking like a fish :confused3

Anybody here NOT like alcohol? there are alot of threads on alcohol and even though I've never tried it I don't like alcohol, because of personal reasons. I made the choice never to try it. Ever. :goodvibes

I tolerate most alchohol. I can occasionally be in the mood for it. But realistically, if I never drank another drop in my life, I wouldn't miss it at all.

I don't really like it much at all. Occasionally I will have a glass of dessert wine since it is sweet, but otherwise there isn't much that I like. Plus it makes me feel hot and sweaty- ick! In college one time I had too many jello shooters and I talked in my sleep @@ My roommate told me all about it the next day.

I'd rather drink diet pepsi.

I don't like alcohol straight up, but I do like a mixed drink.

Ok, I have to admit that this thread isn't as much fun as some of the pro drinking, lush threads out there so lets spice it up some.

:cool1:  :cheer2: :jumping1: :dancer: :rockband:

Us non drinkers can be just as much fun. (more really because we don't throw up on the carpet! ) :rotfl:

Oh and I should mention that this guy is just drinking coke. :drinking1

Ok, I may not drink alcohol, but I've got some leftover percocet in my medicine cabinet! :cool1:

That is rather funny, my DH had a kidney stone less then a year ago. He said tonight he wasn't feeling to good, like when it started before so I checked the med cabinet.

Between his kidney stones and my labor with the 2 kids we have a pretty good stock here too!

I hope it is nothing (with his kidney, I am rather concenred.)

Hey, I've never thrown up on the carpet! Of course my whole house is tiled.... :rotfl:

Alcohol is definately an aquired taste. I am not a big fan of hard liquor, except when it is in a margarita, but I do enjoy good wine.

I also made the choice to never drink. I have never had alcohol. I'm 38, btw :) DH used to drink socially but quit long before we met. Neither of our parents drink either, although my dad said he once tasted a beer when he was in college and he thought it tasted like horse pee :rotfl: My mom has never tasted alcohol. My parents do not attend events where alcohol is served, but it doesn't bother DH and I if others drink as long as no one is drunk. I don't care that they're drunk, but their behavior is uaully rather...inappropriate. My 20 year class reunion is a great example. Lots of booze but no problems, except for one guy who'd had WAY too much and DH got me away from him pronto! He was scary!

I have a good friend who's Catholic and she loves eating out with me as she knows she can have more than one glass of wine with dinner and I won't make her feel guilty about me being the DD :goodvibes

Laurie :)

PS - I do like virgin drinks, especially pina coladas, so I might like it if I tried it. I had an aunt who was a alcoholic though, and never want to be like that. :(

Your dad drank horse pee??? :confused3 :confused3
