I am thinking of lunching at the Sci-Fi Cafe. Anyone ever dine solo there? I was wondering if I would just be seated in a car row by myself.

Thanks,
penny

When DH and I went in October, we were in the middle row in a car. There was a woman and small child ahead of us and there was a single woman in the row behind us. The waitress referred to the 3 of us as hitchhikers!!! :rotfl: It was very funny and we talked to the woman behind us who said her husband got ill from riding Mission Space but didn't want her to miss out on the fun and insisted she go to Sci-Fi like they had planned. HTH.

I have! I was a walk-in too, waiting about 5 minutes or so to be seated. I was also seated in a row by myself, in the back. It was a nice experience and it was nice to be able to absorb the atmosphere at your own pace. I think out of the places I've dined solo, though, this is one where I would have preferred to have a friend or family member with. I'm not sure why, but I just got that vibe from there. Also, it had nothing to do with service or other guests (all were great!!) it was just how I felt. I hope this helps.

I did-they put me in the back seat of a car with a family in the front 2 rows-they were really nice and friendly and even offered me one of their desserts because they were so full! :goodvibes I think its one of the best to do on your lonesome.

Hi,

I dined solo there on Friday, December 2nd--the experience is chronicled in my trip report--and was actually seated up front.

Yes, and I agree that it's one of the best to do solo. I was in the back row behind a family (whom I found out at the end of the meal were DISers!) Great place to go!

I went to SciFi solo for dinner several years ago. I was seated in the front row of a car, which made it easier to watch the screen. I did talk to the group in the two rows behind me quite a bit and took their picture in the car (kneeling on my seat and looking down on them gave the picture an interesting angle). I liked the atmosphere and it was a nice setup for solo dining. Unfortunately, I don't think the food's that good.
