We leave this Friday, the 1st!! :woohoo: We will be at DL/DCA Tues-Thurs of the next week, June 5-7. I am *hoping* we beat at least some of the crowd; I think a lot of schools aren't out yet. But we're also missing the Electric Light Parade and, I think, fireworks. :sad1: But if we can miss a lot of people so that we can get a lot done with relative ease and comfort, I'll be pretty happy overall. Weather is looking beautiful! Much better than Orlando in June, yikes!

Any experience with crowds for the first of June?

Early June has always been good when we've gone. Schools are still in for a lot of areas, the weather is nice and not too hot. I think it will be nice for you!

We were at DL on Tuesday, and DCA on Thursday.. no crowds to speak of... Some school trips were visiting. Much better weather and lower crowds than this time of year in WDW! Definitely get to the park at or before opening. We got so much done in the first few hours with no lines to speak of... One cast member told us that the crowds really increase when the sun comes out in the afternoon. We love WDW, but we really enjoyed DL!

Have a great trip!

We were at DL on Tuesday and at both DCA & DL on Thursday. The crowds seemed small to us, for the most part. Main Street was pretty packed at times but the lines for the rides were minimal. Some we were even able to walk on without waiting in line at all. We found that Thursday was a little busier than Tues (where we were anyways) especially in the afternoon. We had a blast!!

Have a great trip!!!

:coffee: Hi! I'm leaving this Sunday, I'm packing mostly shorts, capri's. will this be ok? thanks!:hippie:

I'm here now, and posted the same kind of question before I left. I'm glad I did. It is very cool here in the early morning, and after the sun goes down. We are wearing shorts during the day, and long pants and jackets at night. In fact, I didn't bring any long pants for DD (only capris), but she was so cold last night with that little bit of leg showing, that we had to buy her sweat pants and a medium weight jacket to change into.

But I just checked the forecast on TV, and it is supposed to get warmer as this week goes on.

I was really surprised, I was prepared for WDW type weather, and had way too many tank tops and shorts outfits.

it LOOKS busy mainly because the rides have long lines and such. Then i realized like 10 rides are down. but it still not as much as winter time. For one, everyone can fit on main street. No need to move people to IASW.

We're be at DL at the DLH on Wed, Thurs & Fri. I didn't know it would get cool during the night. I'm going to check weather.com then. I can't wait!

Yes! We were there last week & it got quite cool at night. The afternoon was really warm (DD was wearing shorts & a tank top) but come evening...a light jacket & pants were necessary for us. One of the days we forgot to bring clothes for the evening with us & it was very chilly, especially on the rides!

During your stay there will be AP previews of Nemo. I really don't know if it will affect your trip but you never know. Schools are still in but there are some that might be visiting just before the school year ends. I guess it just depends but if this helps, I went for a couple of hours today and it was busy but not that bad. I think the longest wait was 30 minutes for Autopia and Splash Mountain. Indy's wait was probably longer but didn't really see what the time was.

The temperatures right now seem to be what they are like in the first week of october. Really nice, but it can get down right cold at night. Definately be prepared with longer pants and a jacket. I had a nasty shock last time, I had a very light jacket with capris and I nearly had icicles coming out of my nose.

Glad to hear about the crowd levels right now :thumbsup2 although I can see why monday is a bit busier... some people like to spend that extra day at DL and use either the monday or the friday for a long weekend there.

We got back today. If you get to the park early you shouldn't have any problems with the crowds. We thought that it would have been extremly crowded due to the holiday weekend but we were pleasantly surprised. Since we got to the parks early we were able to go on all of the major attractions and still hold fastpasses to some attractions all before 10:00. My biggest piece of advice would be to pack some warm clothes. Unfortunately I didn't check these boards for weather reports. I only checked a weather site for the high of the day. We were freezing in the morning and evenings because I neglected to pack jackets. Coming from Las Vegas and only a four hour drive away, I didn't think that it would be so cold. I'll never make that mistake again!

Have a great time!

Oh, I've been watching weather for weeks now. I was keeping an eye on the weather.com predicted forecast for June and it still seems to be about the same as they said it would be 4-5 weeks ago. Definitely packing a couple of pairs of jeans and a jacket for DD and me; DH is going to tough it out with shorts and short-sleeved shirts. More power to him! Hey, wait a minute -- I'll bet it's a ploy so he can get cold while he's there and buy more Mickey shirts!! :rotfl:

Coming from Atlanta, I'm so ready for some cool weather. It hasn't been as horribly hot/humid/sticky here as it usually is by now but I'm still ready to not break a sweat just being outside for five minutes.

Trust me, you are going to be digging the weather! Just don't let the "June Gloom" get you down. We just left Anaheim today, and found that the morning cloudiness wore off about 11 am, and then it was just gorgeous! I'm from South Carolina, so I know all about the humidity here in the Southeast.

I love June gloom, we went last year in July and I completely missed it! Way too hot too fast in July. I like the cool mornings that turn out to be warm and beautiful! But yes it's good to have some warmer clothes on hand for the evenings. We usually do okay in shorts and tee shirts in the morning. Warmth from excitement I guess! LOL

Well, we're back, and it was more crowded than I was hoping. Much more so, actually, elbow-to-elbow in some places :sad2: -- and we got there at park opening all three days. To me, a 30-minute wait is too much, when we're used to going to WDW in the off season and there are so many more rides there that have FP. If a wait is more than 20 minutes we typically don't get in line, but we did for a few things there at DL since we only had one chance.

The feel of the whole place is MUCH different than WDW to us. I had read many accounts, and found it to be true, that it is very much a day destination for many people, so the makeup of the crowd is different than that of WDW. Of course, we're still very glad to have gone. We missed seeing Cinderella Castle come into view from the monorail, and I sorely missed fireworks, but we did get a sneak peek at Nemo. :yay: I'm working on our trip report but we're going out of town again this Saturday and I don't know if the whole thing will be up by then.

I just got back as my trip as I left on the 3rd and the park was NUTS!!!! so busy it was insane. It sounds funny but Saturday was the slowest day out of all of them. Rides seemed to have kept going down especially space mountain, big thunder and occasionally Indie. Pirates was really backed up and the Haunted Mansion seemed to keep going down. It was crazy going from ride to ride finding they were down and having to dodge a ton of people in the mean time.
