The YC info post is so huge! .. I know I'm being lazy, but I don't really want to dive into that massive post..

So, SOMEONE has to be a Yacht Club expert.... anyone?!

We are going there for 5 nights for part of our honeymoon.. what things should I look out for? Any thing you wish you would have known about the resort area? In the bus route, what resort is picked up first? What are some great places at the resort for adults to get away for a bit? ANY ADVICE?

Thanks!!! :teeth:

We went to the quiet pool at the YC and found it to be much less crowded than Stormalong Bay. One day when I was there, there was only 2 other people there.....nice.

The lounge right off the lobby was never that crowded either. A nice little nook.......

Definitely take advantage of the hot tubs near the quiet pool !!! Much more romantic than the ones at SAB. DH and I used to start our day with an early morning soak with our coffee. Ahhhhhh.

If you have reserved a Lagoon View room, make sure you ask for a 3rd or 4th floor room. Your view of Crescent Lake and Epcot will be much more striking.

The Crews Cup Lounge has some fantastic micro-brews.

Being able to walk to Epcot was THE BEST !!!!

My DW and I honeymooned there for 8 nights in '98. I definitely agree with the quiet pool and hot tub areas as being a place to get away from it all. I don't know when you're going down, but we were there in November and had these all to ourselves.

Taking a stroll along the boardwalk has a nice romantic touch as well, although I'd hardly consider it a getaway. Make certain that you alert the front desk that it is your honeymoon before you get there. They may just have something special for you waiting in the room.

One other thing that we did, however, was rent a car. I did not want to be stuck to a time schedule with the buses. Being at YC you have the ability to walk to both Epcot and MGM, although a boat ride to MGM would be a nice deviation.

You might also think about renting a watercraft of your choice and taking a spin on Crescent Lake or check into one of the Illuminations cruises. Although, you can get a nightly fireworks show from Illuminations by sitting on a Boardwalk bench, or from your balcony (if you get the right room).

I'm not a YC expert - but I am pretty familiar with the area (we usually stay at BC). I have stayed at YC a couple of times as well. So here goes...

1. The bar just off the lobby is really nice. There are some comfortable leather chairs and some quite little nooks you can "hide in".

2. The Crew's Cup Lounge is a great place. Very friendly CMs - most of them have been there since the YC/BC opened. Very cozy little place.

3. Try The Yachtsman for dinner. We have never been disappointed.

4. Stroll over to the Boardwlk side of things. I hear Jelly Rolls is a fun place. We have been in The Atlantic Dance Club. They play disco music - it's kind of fun to hear that stuff again - but only for a little while. And while you are over on that side of the world check out the Bellevue Room, the little bar right off the lobby in the Boardwalk Inn. Very cozy little place.

5. Check out the Karoke bar in the Dolphin. It is a hoot! If you are there in the middle of the week you are almost guaranteed to see/hear some business folks sing (or whatever you want to call it).

6. Schedule a ride on Breathless. It is a reproduction chriscraft runabout. They will cruise you around the lagoons & canals between Epcot & MGM. It is quite fun!

7. Wake up early (oops, forgot you are on your honeymoon) and take a stroll all the way around the Boardwalk. Early (and very late, come to think of it there are hardly no people around). It is like you are the only one there. It is my favorite part of the day - like I'm in my backyard at home & "I'm King of the World".

8. As far as bus schedules... I believe it goes Swan/Dolphin then Yacht then Beach then Boardwalk.

Enjoy yourself & congratulations on your marriage.
