Just a question for those who frequent Yankee Stadium for games. What do they allow you to bring in the stadium for games? What is not allowed? Been to the stadium for a tour but never to a recent game. I'm assuming since 9-11 they are strict about what comes into the stadium.

We will be coming up from NC to visit family in NJ. We are originally from NJ and my DH is a longtime diehard Yankee fan. Of course our children are now bigtime Yankee fans as well and are very excited about the game. We have tickets for next Sundays game. I wasn't sure what the restrictions were on what you could bring into the stadium.

Thanks for any help!

Annie

PROHIBITED ITEMS
The following items are not permitted into Yankee Stadium:

beach balls
blow horns and all other distracting noise makers
briefcases, attaché cases or any type of bags and/or large purses
firearms and/or knives
glass or plastic bottles, cans, coolers, and/or containers
laptops
laser pens/pointers
smoking is not permitted throughout the entire stadium
video cameras are handhelds

No backpacks or bags. They will also check the contents of your water bottle. At least they checked mine.

If you have a small purse or a bag of souvenirs you have purschased Yankee Stadium security gives anyone who needs it a clear plastic bag. That's the only way you are allowed to bring items in. Hope that helps a little.

Thank you. I'm sure my kids will want to purchase some souvenirs because we can not find anything Yankee in NC.

So I can bring my itty bitty purse or what my DH calls a wallet with a strap? They will make me put it in a plastic bag?

What about a bottle of water?

Thanks!

Annie

I'm not sure about a bottle of water. I personally never tried to bring one in. But with my small purses I have brought in I had to take everything out of it and put it in the plastic bag so everything is visible. Hope your family has fun!

Eeeegads! Not to sound nasty or anything but I think security will get an eye full of tampons in my bag. :sad2:

Once you empty it into the plastic bag and you go through security...do they let you put your stuff back in you purse?

Well thanks for letting me know this. At least I'll have an idea of what to expect.

I've been quite a few times in the last few years and always bring in the same purse. I've never had to do this once and hope I never have to. Actually the last game we went to the guy barely looked in my bag but the game before that they even made me take my cell phone out of it's clip. Seems to be luck of the draw. :confused3

The purse that I use is like wallet on a strap. Not like a gun or bomb could fit in there. It has a small zippered change area and then the rest is just all slots with credit cards etc. It's not like I can carry much in it. There is one tiny area with I can squeeze in femine needs and chapstick but that's about the extent of it. Are they going to make me remove all my credit cards? I'm hoping they can just peak in it without me having to remove stuff.

Sorry...not going there! I knew a Red Sox fan would have to get in on this at some point.

I brough in Packaged Snacks, Vitaimin Water, Sandwiches wrapped in Tin Foil. Was made to place all items in a clear plastic bag. I also brought in my Digital Camera.

No problems, However I don't want to pay $$$$$ for drinks and food.

Enjoy the game.

Thanks! My DH just asked me last night if cameras were allowed.

I don't blame you for bringing in your own food. I'm sure the food prices are outrageous. Being that this will probably be the only game my kids get to go to for a long time we are going to let them get some food in the stadium. I may bring in a few bottles of water though because I'm sure we will be sweating.

I would bring some snacks and water. Get something to eat before you go to the game and let them get 1 treat in the ballpark. The food and snacks are very expensive and honestly the hotdogs stink. For me to say this it has to be true because it never bothers me to pay for food, I'll even buy bottles of water at theme parks rather than bring them from home :teeth: .

Cameras are allowed.

I think I will follow that advice. We will be eating before seeing the game. I'll bring some snacks and some water for everyone and just let the kids get one snack of their choice at the ballpark. And no hotdogs!!!! Thanks.

I don't think this guy is so don't ask him :teeth:
