My XM radio subscription expires August 2. I want to renew, but don't want to pay full price. Any deals out there?

I called to cancel my subscription about 3 months ago. When I said I was canceling, they offered me deals to keep it. The 1st was 1 month free with a 3 month subscription. The 2nd was 3 months free with a 6 month subscription. And the 3rd was $8/month for a year. You could try calling and telling them you wish to cancel and see what they offer you.

If you do not have the 'Best of Sirius package' meaning no NFL and Howard Stern, (or don't mind dropping them) if you call to cancel, the should be able to do the half price deal, which is $77 for a full year (about $92 with tax and royalty fees). I have it on both my radios. I dropped the best of sirius because NFL and Stern were not worth double.

just keep saying that you want to cancel, they will keep offering you better deals, I got 3 months free the last time. or wait until it expires and they will send you "we want you back" offers that are pretty good. I think the best deal going is 77 dollars for a year.

Not too bad....:hippie:

My subscription was just expiring i called to cancel at first they offered me 6 months for $20. i still said no so they said they would give me 3 months for free. so i have xm for another 3 months.

I just called to cancel too. I have two accounts. First they offered the free three months. I said no, that my DH doesn't even use his. I don't want to have to call back in a few months to play this game again. They offered a few more things, and my cancellation call ended up to be six months on two accounts for $23. Not too bad.

Thanks for the info, mine doesn't expire til December but it's good to know !

Ours expired in March and they offered us NOTHING! Love the service, but it costs too much for the few radio stations we actually listen to. They haven't even sent us a we want you back offer. Must be they don't like us or something. ;)

Well, I just called about my subscription and requested the $77 special. The person would not budge; said I'd have to pay full price. I even threatened to cancel and her response was "would you like to cancel at this time?" No deals were offered to me to stay as a subscriber. Really disappointed.

Not meaning to hijack the thread but what number do you call for XM, I had it 4 years ago when I bought my SUV and I just let it run out as I had no clue how to re-new it, but I'd like to.

I just purchased a 2010 Honda Odyssey that has sirus/xm radio. I get it free for 90 days. How do I go about getting a subscription and can I choose what stations I get?? DH isn't keen on the idea of the subscription but I am loving have multiple country stations to listen to.

thanks in advance

junebug18 and mykidslovesdisney, go to their website xmradio.com and you'll see there are different plans. The phone number on my renewal form is 1-877-291-5304. I found a different number doing a search for the $77 deal, but it was still xmradio who answered the phone.

Hey there. Both my vehicles are Honda's. About a month before it is due to expire (your trial) you will get a note in the mail with options.

They started calling us within 2 weeks of when we got our new car. I only know its them from doing a google search on the phone number because we havent answered.

I got something in the mail but its all the regular prices. What are the chances of getting a good deal when the 3 free months are over?

Just this past Sunday I renewed my subscription. I was on an old quarterly plan and wanted to pay less.

The rep first offered me the standard packages.
1 year, 1 month free and so on.

Then I was offered the 1 year for $77 and the 5 months for $20.

I asked about the XM Best of Everything package which includes the best of Sirius, but not online access. I was about to get that for $56 for 6 months.

Considering I was paying $44 every 3 months with my old package, I think my upgrade is well worth it.

I wonder how many people pay full price. XM, Charter (who I have for Internet and Phone), I always have to threaten to cancel to get their best rates. I bet they could save a ton of money, PLUS get new subscribers, if they would just set the rates at the lowest price and stick to it. But then, I guess, psychologically, we as consumers wouldn't feel we were getting a good "deal"

I got my XM free for 6 month with my Hyundai. The dealer told me not to give a credit card when I signed up because it automatically renes. So watch out for this. But when my time was up, the mailings started to appear. I keep getting offers and now I am going to cave and get the 5 months for $20. If they wont budge, I would cancel it. Yes I know it sucks but be patient the deals will come.

My XM subscription expires in a few months, so I'm posting here so as to easily find this thread later. I'm going to keep track of these good deals for when the time comes for me to renew. Perhaps, there will be as good or better deals in a few months. I'm already planning my "I can't afford the subscription because I'm budgeting for Christmas" line already. :confused3
