I know there were a few capicity closing this week, and some of us were curious how they were going to handle the Credit Card Fee for no shows at ADRs, when people could not get into the park.

Any word?

I believe the article said if you had an ADR- they let you in!! I believe that is what I have always heard too!!

it was phase 2 which means only resort guest and annual pass or adrs was allowed in but by 230 they was open to all guest. if they would go to phase 3 or 4 they wouldn't allow new guest in so i am sure if they won't let you in they won't charge you. it not a money making thing it just to get people to stop making more then one adr for the same time.

No, they probably wouldn't charge if they were in Phase 3 or 4 close, but I wonder if they were taking late cancels from people who couldn't get on a bus or were stuck waiting in that huge line? I wouldn't be too happy to be charged if the reason I wasn't there was because all the buses were full.

i am sure they wouldn't charge if the park couldn't let anyone in but for the buses they do say allow 90 min for transportation. if a park closes for capacity they wont allow the buses to bring guest to that park unless they left their car in the parking lot mk stopped selling new tickets yesterday until they reopened. it for safety reason they don't wont more people then they can take at the entrance. i am also sure places that charge the 10 will take note of it and not charge the 10.

I don't think 90 minutes would have cut it yesterday. And I just meant in a situation like that, where maybe you couldn't get on a bus or were stuck in those unbelievable lines at the enterance, I would hope they would take that into consideration if someone called because they realized they wouldn't make their ADR.

your right i also like to think disney has plans in place that if it hits phase 2 and beyond that would be the restaurant cue not to charge the ten to anyone. Their has to be some force beyond your control what happens if the bus breaks down or your stuck on a broken ride these things are not your fault and should not cause you to be charged a 10 fee.

A couple of comments regarding Phase Closings and Dining Reservations.

1. If the Closing is Phase 1, 2, or 3 and you are arriving by Disney Transportation and are either a Resort Guest or have a printed confirmation of an ADR within an hour you will be let in.

2. If it is a Phase 4 closing nobody is allowed in.

3. In-Park Dining requires having valid admission to that Park. When you make a reservation, either by phone or online you are given this warning. During Phase 4 nobody has valid admission.

4. The closings yesterday were all cancelled by 2:30pm.

5. If you have a dining reservation in a Park, and you anticipate that it may have a Phase Closing, you should be at the Park at least two hours prior to your reservation. That way if there is a Phase Closing there would still be a good chance of your being able to get into the Park and get to the restaurant on time.

Rumor is 70% of guests at WDW are first timers or once every 5 year people. I'm thinking most don't know what a phase closing is, let alone anticipating one. And even for me...far from a first timer, I don't know that I would think to plan to be at the park 2 hours early. If you had a 10am ADR, how in the world would you know before the park even opens that you need leave your room by 7am to get to the park 2 hours early?
