Hi everyone!

DF and I are starting to think about plans for our Wishes Wedding and would love to hear from anyone who's had their reception at DHS.

We want to have an animator theme to our wedding (picture the Animator's Palate on the Disney Wonder or Magic) and think that DHS would be the perfect place for a reception.

So, anyone who's done or is planning at DHS care to share where they are having the reception and perhaps the cost of the venue site (we're still too far away from our wedding date, hopefully 12/22/12, to talk to a consultant, but I want to start coming up with some form of budget!).

Thanks! :thumbsup2

I don't think there's a venue fee but there is a food & beverage minimum associated with certain venues.

Have you bought Carrie's Disney Weddings & honeymoon Passporter's book? it's very helpful and lists all the venues and their f&b minimums.

I am about to go purchase the book-- keep hearing great things about it!

I just bought Carrie's book!! Wow!! So much info! Thanks for the recommendation!

Ooohh I hope you do! If we hadn't gotten The Attic, the only other venue I wanted to use was the Prop Shop. I also know you can do receptions at the Art of Animation--- perfect for your theme!

Can anyone that has read the book tell me how much info it has about honeymoons? I'm having an at home wedding but traveling to Disney for the honeymoon, so I don't need all the info about the weddings. But if it still has a lot that applies to honeymoons then I'm going to plan to buy it!

I love the Attic!! DFi doesn't. I would love to know more about the Prop Shop! I'm confused as to where it actually is? The room after you get off the Backlot Tour? Actually behind the scenes somewhere?? Do you know?

I wish I could be of some help, but I haven't gotten that far in the book yet. That chapter does look pretty extensive however!

I talked to my consultant a couple weeks ago and she said they just got numbers from the Prop Shop that they are maxing the party size to 50, but on the Disney event site it says up to 100....so who knows! :confused3
For your theme though I would look at the Magic of Disney Animation building! HTH

Thanks for the info!! I just made up a tenative guest list and have 56 people. I'd love to do the Prop Shop so I really hope either people don't show or it stays at 100!! I'm also strongly considering the Animation building!

Thanks for the help everyone!

There is an entire chapter (17 pages) devoted to honeymoons, including info on romantic dining, special experiences & activities, tours, photography sessions, ordering cake and treats, and planning private events. :thumbsup2

It used to be the queue for the Backlot Tour. Here are a ton of pix I took a few months ago on a tour of event sites at DHS:

DHS has sooooooo many event spaces. I haven't gotten to that part of my trip report yet, but off the top of my head there's Hollywood Hideaway (behind American Idol), Theater of the Stars and its Courtyard, Rock 'n' Roller coaster courtyard, Tower of Terror Terrace (we just did our anniversary there - pix to come!) and courtyard (by the gift shop), the Fantasmic! terraces, the walkway to Fantasmic, the stunt show stage, Indiana Jones, the Great Movie Ride, Prince Caspian, the Animation building, Pixar Place... the list goes on and on...

Do you have pricing info for these options? I am very curious about the rock n roller coaster and tower of terror reception option....hmmmm...
