Any way to "trade" DVC resort ownership points?

We own DVC points at 3 resorts. There is one (I won't name it) that we really do not like - at all. I would love to get rid of those points and get points at another DVC resort.

Is there any ability out there (within DVC or through a broker) to swap points from one DVC resort to another? Because it's real estate ownership, I get it that it's kind of like trading my house for my neighbor's... But wondering if there's any way to do it without huge closing costs (twice)?

The way you "swap" is to sell that contract and buy other. No other way. Most people selling aren;t out there looking to trade, they're looking to get out.

Theoretically you could do this but I agree with the above, just sell and rebuy if it's an issue. Just realize you're going to lose out the commission on the deal, roughly 10% of the sale price plus paying an additional closing. Finding someone to swap and save the commissions and some of the closing is unlikely and probably not worth fooling with.

Your trade options are to rent or transfer out the points at the resort you don't prefer and then depending on what you did with your points you can either transfer in or rent points at a resort you prefer (only one transfer either in or out per UY). Or book with them at 7 months - depending on the times of the year you go that may be a very viable option. You would still have the same ownership though.

Otherwise because it's a deeded real estate interest you would need to sell your ownership in that resort and purchase at one you prefer if you wish to retain the same level of points. There is a cost to do this - commission, fees and perhaps different purchase price of new resort.

I would guess vero beach also, but no matter, it is better to sell, take a possible loss, and then buy where you really want to own.

Funny, I was guessing SSR (although we happen to love it).
