Any way to modify job preferences after submitting application?

Hey y'all, I'm new here. :goodvibes

So I just submitted the first part of my application earlier today, and while I'm generally happy with how it turned out, there's one thing I'm somewhat starting to regret. I marked Merchandise, Attractions, and PhotoPass all under "Very High" interest, with a main desire of getting merchandise after having spent time working for Aeropostale. I also love answering questions about the parks, and just helping people in general, and I've heard people in Merch do a lot of that. After reading some threads here though, it actually sounds like Custodial actually has some of the most guest interaction. The more laidback and independent style of work also sounds appealing. And since I was having visions of wiping down toilet heads and mopping up puke in QSRs, I marked down Custodial as "No Interest". :guilty: Is there any way of formally submitting a correction, or maybe clarifying my intentions at some point in the interview process, or has that ship sailed?

Thank you for your help! :thumbsup2

I think you'll definitely be able to mention it in the phone interview, especially since they ask you for your top preferences.

My daughter put down merchandise/hospitality/attractions. She didn't get any of those. I just want to share her story because, even if you put what you really want does not mean you will get your top choices.

She got QSFB and when she found out she told them about her nut allergy and they assured her they would not put her with nuts. This was in Oct. She checked in on Jan. 9th. She found out she was outdoor foods in MK. Then when she went to her first day of training she found out she was food carts including popcorn, ice-cream carts, almond carts, drink carts. She let her trainer know right away about the nut allergy. She was told that she would not do the nut cart rotation. Long story short...first two nights of working at the popcorn cart during her training days she had two allergic reactions. Management was informed, they could not believe that casting even put her in foods period. The nuts are made in the same dept. as where all of these cast members work/train/clean up their carts. They ended up pulling her, then she was transferred to merchandise in the Emporium in MK. It was a few days of paperwork being faxed from Disney to her doctor and back. She had to then deliver it to health services and then her dept. It kept her out of a job for 5 days. It was a big mess. HOWEVER she is very very happy with her job in merchandise and her locations. GOOD LUCK!!!

What a scary experience for your daughter! So glad she is enjoying her new position in merchandising - sounds like she is perfectly suited for her new role! I chose front desk, guest services and vacation planner and my interviewer was very encouraging saying she thought there should be no reason why I wouldn't get into one of these. Now it's just playing the waiting game - even tho I'm in my 50's I still dream of working for Disney :cloud9:

Thanks for the heads up. :thumbsup2 I'm nothing but flexible so I'll most likely be fine with whatever I end up with. Can't hurt to state my preferences, though.

Glad things worked out for her, did she say she would do QS at all, or she didn't even put it down?
