Any way to get dining w/o package?

I want to use a AAA discount. But, then I have to go through AAA and book the full package just to get the room discount.

Is there any way to buy a dining package with the tickets and not have it attached to the room booking?

Isn't the dining package similar to the vouchers, but attached to your ticket?

In order to get the DDP you must do one of two things:

1. Buy a pkg that includes room, at least a one day MYW ticket, and the DDP

2. Stay at a DVC resort on points, in which case you can buy the DDP without having to purchase park tickets. If you are renting points from a DVC member you can have the owner add the DDP for you.

The dining plan is attached to your room, not your park tickets. You get 1 TS, 1 CS, and 1 snack for each night of your stay and everyone in the room must be on the same pkg. You can buy one day tickets in the pkg, then upgrade everyone's ticket to what they need once you get there, but at booking everyone in the room must purchase the same type ticket and yes you must book a room as part of the pkg.

Ok, I'm going to try to answer your question based on the way I understand it.

You can get the AAA room discount thru either AAA or WDTC.

Dining is tied into to a MYW package (tickets + dining), and is based on the number of nights of your stay (thus tied to the room), not the number of days on your ticket.

In order to get the AAA discount and dining for each night of your stay, you must purchase a MYW package thru AAA, with at least one day's park admission. You can always hold onto the ticket and use it for a future visit or towards a ticket upgrade.

You pretty much do have to buy the package to get the dining. No way around it and that would mean booking with AAA.

I would love to have the name of your AAA TA! The last one I used was pretty flakey .
