Was hoping to get some insight from any vet techs regarding a gift for my vet's office. They are a small office, maybe 8 total workers. I don't want to do homemade gifts, candy, cookies, etc., as it seems they get a ton of that from other clients. I wanted to actually treat them to lunch/dinner (thinking pizza, sub platter, etc). The office is in an area I'm not real familiar with, so I'd hate just to wander into any pizzeria I see & get a gift certificate. I want to write them a very nice note & include cash with it so they can treat themselves to their meal where they want it from but I don't know if that is tacky? Any advice or other ideas? Thanks so much! Donna
BTW - in the past years, I have done a gift certificate for a sandwich platter from a restaurant that was across the street from the vet's office, but they are now closed. :-(

My DW is a vet in a small practice and has had clients do similar things and they were always VERY appreciated (note:fresh snack goodies can never be too much) as an effort for something unique. She thinks a gift certificate is better than cash, becasue then it keeps things as you intended. One idea is to contact the office manager or the vet and let them in on it to help plan. Another idea would be to try calling a few other businesses in the area, they could likely recommend a good place.

Vet tech here. We love food! LOL Actually where I work we go so much bakery, cookies, candy etc..... it's always appreciated, but so many sweets can get you to. We love (love love) getting the fruit baskets, cheese platters or even bagels and coffee in the morning for something different.

It's always a great treat when someone sends us in lunch. We have a lot of restaurant owners as clients and they usually call and let us know in advance they'd like to send us all lunch. Sometimes clients just send in pizza or sub platters. Surprises are nice too. If you don't know the area local chains like Panera or grocery stores do a nice party platter.

Thanks for remembering us at your local clinic for the holidays!

regards

My DH is a vet tech and they also love the food! They would also enjoy a gift certificate to a food place, any would be fine..ask around to your friends about a nice place somewhere close by if you need ideas. At my DH office they all take different days off, etc, so it could be tricky to have a meal all together, but something they could bring in, subs, pizza, etc is a nice idea. Really..any kind of thank you at all is very much appreciated!
