My daughter is a 'new' vegetarian, so this is a new thing for me:confused:

Are there vegetarian options for either CS or TS at the parks?

I am particularly curious because I am considering the DDP, but don't want to pay for it if she's going to be stuck eating mac 'n' cheese everyday.

Thanks!

There is a veg option everywhere or they will make one if you ask (for example there is no kids veg meal on the CRT menu but they have one if you ask), but yes many of them are mac and cheese or pbj. If you look at the menus on allears you can get an idea.

We are a vegetarian family, but we've never done the dining plan. I've looked at the menus and it didn't seem worth it for the way we eat.

Are you looking for just things from the kids menu? There are sooooo many vegetarian options for adults.

They always say, "call ahead" and that's what I'd do. They can do amazing things if they just know in advance - I'm pretty sure they would do things that aren't even available at the restaurants that you choose. Look at the menus at http://www.allears.net and call and ask if they'll turn the veggie options into kids meals.

With table service, you should have no problems. Counter service is limited to what they have. They don't have a chef there to prepare something not on the menu.

At the Animal Kingdom, Pizzafari has spaghetti and meatballs for a kids meal but she can get it without the meatballs.

At the Studios, the Studio Catering Company has the aforementioned mac and cheese and PBJ.

At Epcot, you could switch meals at the Lotus Blossom Cafe which is great for vegetarians.

Cosmic Ray's has a salad with chicken but she could take that off.

And don't forget that you can always get fries all over the park.

Be creative. Switch meals. Get her an adult meal and you share and have her kids meal. Get a bunch of stuff and everyone share.

We're vegetarian and DS can't have corn syrup (or related ingredients) so he's pretty limited with the kid's meal choices I've seen on allears. He can't even have their pb&j b/c it's Smuckers Uncrustables, and those are loaded with corn syrup and high fructose corn syrup. (can't even have dole whips b/c of corn syrup solids!)

That combined with how hubby and I eat makes the dining plan silly as well, like a previous poster.

But that's neither here nor there. I know that with my son I'll have to go with the adult menu (luckily he's adventurous) quite a lot of the time, and the other times I'll have to ask them to do something off the menu for him. I'm not worried about it, but it does cut down on the convenience of it all.

While I'm completely supportive of vegetarian kids, there is a really good chance that this won't stick at her age (any age where a kids meal is still appropriate) unless you are a family of vegetarians. Be prepared, be flexible - but I wouldn't sweat it too much.

(My own daughter lasted two weeks).
