Any updates on HIFS renovations?

There was a thread about this before the holidays, but I emailed them and never got an answer to my question about how renovations will affect our possible stay in early June. Has anyone been recently and do you have any news? I hope those that are going in March (when renovations are scheduled to being) will keep us updated. I currently have reservations here and onsite at POR, where renovations may also be beginning and I'm trying to make a decision before our package needs to be paid at Disney... don't want to pay a cancellation fee.

No idea when they are going to start renovations. Just call the hotel directly and ask to speak to the manager or the owner (she is there often).

I asked if when we are there in Oct if there might be any Nick rooms yet and the girl said most likey some but not sure how many but renovations are starting in Feb. I requested a Nick kidsuites anyway .. I am keeping an eye on these post too.. what did you get for a rate ? We got the Senior Saver of 104 as my mom is going with us and is over 50 . michelle

Can you book the senior saver rate online? The reason I am asking Mom is going WDW she can book the hotel in her name and we will spilt the cost.

No I don't think so, they are higher on line then if you call the toll free number listed on the hifamilysuites.com site . the people working there are very nice - at least the ones I have spoken with so far.. Michelle

Talking about HIFS rates, I got entertainment card rates for a kidsSuite @ $76 and $86 for a CinemaSuite. I thought that was a good deal. We're going 8/29 to 9/5. HTH someone.

I got the $89 entertainment rate for the first week of June on the Holiday Inn website.

I emailed also and have not heard anything. I did see somewhere that they heard the pools will be available and another place said 1 would not. Who knows. We are going in June, I had entertainment card rates for 89 and 103 but I changed our dates by a week and the rates all went to $104. We're going for 1 night and them checkinhg into POR for 9 nights and then going back for 3 nights and hitting Universal and Sea World. Sounds like BrerMama your trip will be very similar to ours, we hit Orlando June 6. Are you renting a car for the whole time? If so, have you found any good deals yet? I booked a fullsize with L & M for $352.56 for the whole time. No one else is close to this but I'm still looking at the other more well known companies to see if any codes or coupons come out. Wow, coach, sounds like we have a lot in common. We're going June 3-11 and have the $89 rate for 3 nights and then it changes to $103. I actually have 3 reservations -- one for HIFS, one for POR and one for the Comfort Inn in Lake Buena Vista. We still can't decide and with our van not starting today (thus, I'm at home wasting a personal day at work) it may come down to budget. Speaking of Budget, I have a reservation for a full size car through Budget for $191 for our 9 days/8 nights. I used the 20% off coupon in the entertainment book to get this rate. Since I booked, rates have gone up about $50 for this time period but this is still the best rate I've found for my time frame.

Hi

Just spoke with Monique at HIFS. She said the renovations are "tentatively" scheduled to begin in Feb. on the Lap pool and March on the Lobby. She assured me that the renovations will not inconvenience my stay (June 19th-26th).

I specifally asked about the "kids" pool. Work is not to be done there until August. (again, tentatively)

Curly, thanks so much. We have emailed and called and could not get a straight answer anywhere. I really wish they would just update their site!

BTW, great rate on National. The thing that is killing me is the extra day... It's $35-40 extra for it. So my $191 is pretty close to yours with an extra day. I'll keep trying though!
