Any Updates on Chef Mickey?? (Updated-Post 238)

This makes me very happy about Chef Mickey's! Thanks everyone! I have been trying for a week to get reservations at Garden Grill and Crystal Palace, but no luck as of yet. I try all day everyday jsut hoping for one cancellation. I have a full day at Epcot with no dining reservations anywhere I think we may leave a bit early and head to DTD and get one at Fulton's. I can use my DDP for that!

I read on another thread that they tried this "test" but due to soo many complaints he was back to roaming after two or three days. I sure hope this is true, I have both Cm and Donald's breakfast planned for our Nov/Dec trip and would be VERY disapointed if they are just standing for the photo op.

We had dinner at Chef Mickeys Saturday. He is available for pictures only. We were very disappointed ! Yes you could take your own pictures but it just wasnt the same as having the interaction at your table. The other characters were great ! Food was so so (as always).

I have to say I really like the idea of this. We always get the pictures (it's sort of how we judge the growth of our family each year) and it will be nice to have Mickey standing with you and not the plate! Also, I think it may calm down the meal a little with 1 less character coming around table to table. IMHO

We leave Friday and cancled our CM reservation. We are on the QSDP so we are paying OP for a few ts meals. So I'm glad I saw this so I could cancle. We are doing garden grill for Mickey now.

No, you can't; Fulton's doesn't accept DDP.

just an fyi mickey is also at O'hanas breakfast. Gives you a 2nd option!

And O'Hana's is very good as is Tusker House with Donald and Mickey and Cape May's but Mickey was not there just Goofy and gang

I read over on DisBou that as of yesterday he was still out front despite the twitter announcement that it was a test and halted.

This was posted today..

Just a heads up, as of yesterday morning at 11am, they were still having you take pics with Mickey in the front by the plate. You check in, get your buzzer, and then wait in a nice long line to get your pic. They do the photopass picture (I think it was $30ish - they never actually made it to our table with our pic). But there is someone who will take pics with your camera. Then its Donald, Pluto, Minnie, and Goofy who walk to the tables.

Well, used this to convince DW to switch to 'Ohana.

From the reviews, it looks like the food might be better and the atmosphere more relaxed.

Plus it's a few bucks cheaper!
