Any UK people that have moved to Florida????

Have any of you moved to Florida, either full time or for part of the year? My friend, from Liverpool is living in Florida now for nearly three months and is now feeling like he is alone 90% of the time. How did you all handle your relocation? What made it better. He says everything is a struggle, like setting up cable tv, getting a car and insurance, etc. Is there anything you can recommend or suggest to make things a bit easier? Any associations, clubs, meet & greets, agencies, etc. that may be able to guide him in the right direction, so he doesn't feel like he's fighting an uphill battle all the time with everything. Also, do any of you get together at any of the parks? Even if it's not Disney, do you all belong to any other groups or clubs?

Any help would be great. I feel so bad for him. He had to spend Christmas without his family. They are all still in England. He's made some friends here, but he's hasn't been here long enough to really have a bond just yet.
