Good day, all.

In November my husband and I are going to spend a day at Universal. Our main goal is to ride the Hogwarts Express. I'm a giant Harry Potter fan so this is very exciting to me. :)

My questions is regarding parking. When we went six years ago I remember parking in the parking garage then walking like, 4,000 years to get to the park. I thought we got a pretty good spot in the parking garage but as it turns out, it was not. Is there any tricks to parking in the garage (besides getting preferred parking or valet)? Is there a particular section we should park in? A certain floor?

Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

A taxi would drop you off at the parking garage 'hub'. From there you can use the moving walkways to cut 2000 years off the time. Have fun, the HE is very awesome!

Except for Preferred Parking, you will have no idea what level you will be directed to park on. You won't even know which garage you will park in. Preferred is level three other than that...it's anyone's guess. Valet is nice and close but can be pricey...you'll have to decide if its worth it for you.

Unless you pay extra for preferred or valet parking you really have no control over where you will park in the parking garage as they direct you to a spot when going for RD which I would assume is what you'd like to do since you have Harry Potter "goals" lol.

Even valet and preferred parking is quite a hike from the park entrances. Closer than general parking, but still kind of far,

As far as we have experienced, they simply send you to where they want you. Just like at Disney. So just hope that everyone in front of you understands this and just keeps on going until you're directed to where to park. Make note of where you are and start following the signs to citywalk!

Valet is a lot closer then preferred.. and yes also cost more..

Indeed. I think valet costs $40. Still, you need to take one moving sidewalk to City Walk, then walk thru it to either park. Not something I'd be willing to pay so much for.

No trams to bring you close to the gates like other theme parks. But I still enjoy the whole atmosphere at Universal. It's worth the walk.
