Any Travel Agents out there?

I just had a friend offer to book a trip for me and give me the discount/commision. I would love to save money, but I would need to give her something to feel right about it. So how much work is it to book (We are doing a visa package plus a room only day tagged on either end) and what would be an appropriate thankyou gift? (Are we talking about a savings of a few $$ or is it quite a bit?)

I am having lunch with her next week.

Hiya, I work in a travel agency....although there are a lot of "Steps" involved in booking a trip, its really not a lot of time or effort. That is extremely generous of your friend to give you the commission/discount. I think maybe a gift cert. to a nice restaurant in your area or something like that...

I'm a TA and I love it when clients bring me back a small souvenir from their trip!

I think just buy her lunch when you get together, or send her a nice holiday centerpiece to her house.
