We are purchased our DVC membership in June of 2012 and my husband and I are using some of our points to stay at SSR for 3 nights in February and then our entire family is going in September staying at AKR in a 2 bedroom villa. We have bought 2 annual passes for us. Since this is our first trip with DVC, my question is what do we expect? WE are doing transportation from the airport this time. Thank you so much for the advice!

Staying at a DVC resort isn't much different than staying at any other Disney property. You have full resort privileges, use of the bus system, etc. You do not get housekeeping every day unless you want to pay for it.

If you do not charge anything to your room, you will not pay for anything. Everything is covered by your points. Sometimes when we go I don't charge to the room...it is nice walking out with a $0 balance!
