Besides appearance, any tips on purchasing a Pre-Lit Tree?
Inspired by the thread started by shannonandtom, I'm rushing out tonight to see if I can still find a Pre-Lit Christmas Tree.

I usually put up our 7.5' hook-on type the day after Thanksgiving, but I've been dragging my feet dreading hooking on all those branches. Those Pre-Lit Christmas Trees really caught my eye.

Thanks & Happy Holidays! :)

I'll try to help, but I just have a regular artificial tree. I'd like a pre-lit one, but we bought ours about 4 years ago, and the pre-lit ones were either really expensive or really ugly back then.

With any artificial tree, you need to look at the number of pine needles. (I think they're called tips.) I'm not sure what an ideal number is. I think it depends on both the height of the tree and what type of tree it's supposed to look like. You'll get a good idea about what's good when you've looked at a few trees. The number of lights will obviously also be important on a pre-lit tree.

You should also look at how the tree is assembled. Some are easier than others.

I just bought mine last week!

The main thing we looked for was fullness. We didn't want one of those cheap skinny looking trees. Also be sure you ask how easy it is to set up. Ours was like mega easy. It came in three sections and you just connected all of the pieces. Then POOF we had a fully assembled lit tree.

Thank You for your replies! :)

I still have not purchased the pre-lit tree. We went last night, but the pickings were slim. Actually, the trees that were left were very narrow, I think they're called "slims." :( The tree we have -- hook-on branch by branch -- is much fuller & just looks nicer overall.

Ironically, a friend of mine has the same exact tree thta we have & she just put hers up yesterday. Unless I run across one I like beforehand, I'm going to just bite the bullet & put mine up by this weekend. I should've started this quest earlier in the season...there's always next year.

Thanks again for your help! :)

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
