I am going on a job interview next week. I am so nervous I feel like I will be sick! My Co. is closing and I have been with them over 20 years.

Anyone have any tips or pointers that I should know about, the last time I went for an interview I was in High School.

Thanks,

Come prepared with a copy of your resume and a seperate list reference. Bring any letters of reference you have. Make sure your email address is professional (I can't tell you how many resumes I discard because they could't take the time to make an address with their name instead of sexygurl321@isp.com). Dress professionaly but don't overdress for the company (ie don't wear a 3 peice suit to an interview with a skate company).

Relax and good luck!

Relax, be friendly but professional. Dress accordingly. Know a little something about the company you are interviewing for. Think ahead of time of some strengths and weaknesses you have because you will undoubtedly be asked about them.

Smile at the end of the interview and thank them for their time.

Good luck! :cheer2:

Good replies. Go in there knowing that you are a complete badass and they'd be fools not to hire you. However, you got to be humble too. Pay attention to your interviewers body language and emulate him/her. If he/she is an serious perosn who sits with their back perfectly straight. You do the same. If they are relaxed and joking and smiling, do the same. People like people like them. I don't know, it was one of the things I was taught about interviewing. Other things not mentioned in the previous replies; use a firm handshake and portray yourself as a learner - not just willing, but excited to learn a new job.

Never underestimate the importance of good posture. It just exudes self-confidence and competence! Good luck!

Thanks for the replies. Good things to remember - I know I am going to be a nervous wreck when I go!

Look the interviewer in the eye. If someone isn't looking at me during an interview, I have a problem with it. And I look them in the eye.
